Another Birthday Cake

3 January is always a busy birthday month in my family. Still within the holidays mode, two of my sons' birthdays are in the first few days of January. Then toward the middle of the month is my youngest son's birthday... I share here my baby's birthday cake. Yeah, he just turned 18 and I just cannot believe he's an adult now... When I started here 4 years ago, I sometimes talked about having four teenage boys. Now, I only have one left... Oh, I know I shouldn't be crying because this is just how life is and I should be grateful. I am happy and grateful to be blessed with four wonderful sons - I'm just crying happy tears, that's all...

It can be bitter sweet seeing our children grow into adults, can't it? That looks like a great cake.

I freak out sometimes thinking that they will get married and have their own families... But yeah, I have to accept that is part of life and will happen eventually...

Happy birthday and happy anniversary! Wow, you must be busy celebrating one after the other then - or are you putting both occasions into one celebration?

Thank you! Luckily this one still does not mind me hugging and kissing him - his older brothers seem to be over that stage already and would just go as far as a hand shake...

Happy Birthday to your lovely sons (those who are celebrating birthday this month). Time runs really fast and it is hard to believe kids grow this fast. But it is true. Enjoy your time with them. God blesses your family.

@sishy7 But if she is my last, then I won't have any more babies in the house, and THAT will make me feel horribly sad and alone.

Nah, you'll be alright - just a little sad perhaps but she'll make you proud that will ease up your sadness of seeing her turning into young adult...

@purplealabaster *DE looks at PA with a horror stricken look!* What do you mean, PA? I am sure I read somewhere that you have several more children! Did you forget the ones you had with Val and Mario? How sad! You've forgotten the rest of your babies!

Happy birthday to your son. Being an adult means to be independent. I guess you are crying because you love them so much that you don't want them to be independent. but don't worry they love you too. they will take care of you as you did for them.

Thank you! Oh, I do want them to be independent. But I want them not having to face any problems if at all possible... I know that's impossible - everyone have their share of problems, of course... I have to let them learn to be on their own as surely I won't be here forever...
