Back Pain

My back has been bothering me for the past two days. It's a nagging ache which is keeping me from doing all the things I want and need to do. I didn't get much time here yesterday as sitting at my desk just made my back ache more. I spent most of the day relaxing, catching up on some television shows and reading. I went to bed early, slept pretty well and got up this morning feeling somewhat better but not 100%. I have no idea why I have this nagging pain but it happens occasionally and I'm just hoping it doesn't go out completely. I must have strained it somehow without even realizing it. I've had a back issues since I was in my twenties so this is nothing new...alternate ice packs & heat and some Ibuprofen usually helps. Do you suffer from back pain?

Only sciatica and that's bad enough. Do you have a heating pad, that helps my sciatica.

@Marilynda1225 When I went to PT for sciatica they told me ice after working out, heat for the pain.

I fractured a vertebrae in my back when I was a teenager and it has never been the same since. I also have severe osteoporosis in my back to the point where my spine is so brittle that I'm told that I don't have to fall to break it. I rely on my heating pad when my back flares up, I hope that you can find relief from the same when you need it.

@Marilynda1225 Thank you, I'm used to it but I feel for those of you who aren't because its hard to adjust to the pain and lack of ease of mobility.

I do to the point that I cannot move in certain ways and have no other choice but to rest in bed. I do not have any specific pain meds, but I do use Bayer Back and Body. It helps to a minimun when it is really bad. It is from an injury I got years ago. I hope yours eases soon my friend.

@tiarasocenview I've been bedridden with back pain on different occasions in my life but thankfully I'm still able to move around today. Guess we both have back problems due to injuries from years ago

I twisted my spine which resulted in a pinched nerve years ago, when exercising. Every once in a while, something as simple as a sneeze could set it off. Exercises help. I hope you feel 100% soon.

@DianneN I can certainly relate to the not being able to wipe yourself problem. I used to go to my chiropractor when I had back issues and he would be able to get me up and moving pretty quickly. But, since I moved a few years ago I haven't looked for another chiropractor and really miss my old one. It's just a little too long a drive to go back to him

@DianneN I'm coming along thank you for well wishes. A pinched nerve sounds painful. Do you get those shooting pains with it?

@Marilynda1225 It was so bad that I couldn't wipe myself. My son, who was 5 at the time had to lift my leg into the car, so I could drive to the chiropractor. He was a friend or ours, and after many treatments, fixed me up. He had to manipulate the spine in order to free the nerve. My back has never been the same.

@Marilynda1225 I have a recurring pain in my lower back on the left side. My sciatica nerve acts up in bad weather and then it is difficult to sit and at times even stand. Hope your back feels better soon.

I have had back pain since I was 13 with my menstrual. I have had a bad back ever since. Pain in my back always every day. Some days it's just more than usual. Once a year ago or so I threw my back out putting on my shirt. Something I have done everyday of my life. Go figure, getting old is awful.

@fishtiger58 it's so easy to throw out your back when you have a problem with a bad back in general. Sometimes a simple sneeze can do it

Hubby's family has a history of back pain. His sister has to continually maintain with yoga and such, but even still it haunts her every now and then. Hubby gets lower back pains, but he tends to be the weekend warrior and muscles this chores - so no wonder his back gets overworked. Hope your back feels 100% soon!

@Marilynda1225 Ah, if it's from an injury, at least you understand why. I have a childhood whiplash injury that haunts me at least every other year.

No havent had back pain. My mother usually have this often as she is a tailor and gets to sit for long hours stitching. Doing some simple excercise may help a lot. Hope you get well completely soon.

@aju007 I can imagine that your poor mom must have had back issues if she was stitching for long hours.

@Marilynda1225 Yes it is. I need to remember to get up and move around every so often, and now that I don't have Pip to put out, I need to make even more of an effort to get up from this chair.

@lucky15 yes, sitting for too long can make the back hurt. That's why it's important to get up and walk around every hour or so to just get the blood flowing

I suffer from back pain often, due to Cauda Equina Syndrome. Sadly, I will deal with it for the rest of my life. Some days are better then others.

@Marilynda1225 Thank you. It isn't very fun having such an issue at my age(I am only 32), but I am pushing through. Thankfully it is not quite as bad as some others have it. I hope you have many more pain free days, than painful days.

I suffer time by time of back pain. I hit my back very hard a day I slipped on a puddle of water and fall on our floor. There is nothing that can really help.

As you know, mine is severe all the time @Marilynda1225 . I try to ignore it most of the time but when it gets really bad (15 on the scale), I use my Tends Unit and take a baby aspirin. I hope you feel better as the day goes on.
