Know When To Meow No

Tiger After A Tough Night

Tiger Cat was sitting on my desk making a pest of himself, as he often does, when I realized I hadn't taken any pictures of him or Joe Cat with my new camera. As it turned out, Tiger Cat didn't much appreciate being hounded by Paparazzi Dad and refused to pose for a decent picture. I got my revenge though when I caught him in this pose looking hung over, as though he'd enjoyed too much catnip the night before. Joe Cat didn't like being left out of the action and had made one of his rare trips (these days) downstairs to see what was going on. I was able to get a picture of him trying to get Tiger Cat's attention. Putting the two photos together, it looks like Tiger Cat is hopelessly under the influence of catnip and Joe Cat is trying to talk him down before Tiger does something rash. If you have cats, do they ever act eerily human?

Whatever their behaviour you can't but just love them. I do not have cats now but several stray ones have given us company

@DWDavis actually I always felt they belonged to us. There was one who would come exactly at the same time announcing his arrival and wait at the kitichen door. He knew there would be food for him the moment he arrived. He had an injury and I just could not touch it. I used to spray from a distance. He did not like all that and so he vanished

We've had several strays come and live on our front porch. We feed them and vet them, and mourn when they're gone.

I do not have cats at this time. However, from past experiences, sometimes I really do wonder. They act so very human. On a side note, Chihuahuas are prone to act like cats

@DWDavis Could very well be. I don't think I've heard of it happening but it makes you wonder as they are such small creatures and in many ways act like the cat.

@Marty1 Chihuahuas seem to be much more selective about who they like than most dogs. It is hard to win over a Chihuahua, much like it is hard to win over a cat if it doesn't like you right off.

I've often wondered if Chihuahuas might not be a cat/dog cross somewhere back along the line.

@petatonicsca My cats are senior cats too. They do nap a lot. Well, one does in particular.

I have two right now too. They are old and sleep a lot, but they spent their rash youth driving me crazy.

Tiger Cat looks like he's holding some important paper for ransom.

Tiger Cat doesn't like it when his spot on my desk is covered with papers. He will usually push them off onto the floor.

@DWDavis Tiger Cat definitely has his preferences. I once had a cat who didn't like the attention I was paying the monitor and would place herself between me and it quite regularly. She developed a talent for jumping on the keyboard and hitting CTL + ALT + DEL I'm pretty sure it was deliberate.

@msiduri Joe Cat is the one who will get in the way of my keyboarding. He will also start randomly moving my mouse with his foot if he wants attention.

Tiger Cat does look a bit hung over but I've seen hungover humans look much worse! Mildred also likes an occasional hit of catnip!!

I have a kitten that looks like your tiger cat. We have named our O'Henry. He is a rascal and tries to jump on the other cats and sometimes he wants to claw at them.

Joe Cat looks so funny in this photo, he is cute. I have no cats, but the cat of my neighbor comes to visit every day. He thinks that also our house is "his" house.

Joe Cat started out with the grand name of Smokey Joe Kopeknipo. Don't ask where my son came up with the Kopeknipo. It quickly got shortened to Joe. Poor old thing is starting to look his age.

Very cute picture. I love cats, I have had one in the past, but can't have any at the moment. They do have moments of acting human at times.

Tiger Cat is eerily human at times. At night when it's time to lock up, he follows me around and meows at me as i check each door as if to ask if I'm sure it's locked.

We have two dogs and two cats. One of our dogs likes to chase the cats and doesn't understand why they don't like to play with him. He's a mini-Schnauzer we adopted from a rescue last year.

@DWDavis My cat is really very interesting how she can listen to me and act as though she is thinking of what I am saying to her.
