Procrastinating cost me money

I am not normally a person that procrastinates. I do tend to be a person who makes sure I have all the details before I make a decision. My procrastination just cost me some money.
My husband's Char-Broil BBQ grill is about 10 years old. Considering how often we use it that is a long time for a grill to last. Over the years he had to replace the burners and some small parts, but overall he got his money's worth out of it long ago.
While searching Lowe's site for a new Char-Broil grill I found their infrared model which means it heats hotter, food cooks faster, no flare-ups and the food stays more moist. Sounds good right.
I found the same grill on Amazon.com for $60 less. I told my husband that we should go to Lowe's to look at the grill up close and personal. If he liked it then I would order it from Amazon.
Yesterday we went to Lowe's and he loved the grill. I had no doubt he would. When we got home I went to Amazon's site and to my dismay, they no longer have that model grill.
Now the only place we can buy it at the lowest price is at Lowe's. Darn the luck. I waited too long. I should have ordered it from Amazon when I had the chance. But one bright spot is that Lowe's will deliver it which means they have to lug it around to the back porch and that grill is extremely heavy!
But it would have been nice to have saved the $60...
Photo is the current grill.

So Amazon only had one? I hate when that happens. We just recently bought a Char Grill I think that was the brand. But it's charcoal which we prefer.

They probably had a few but it was several weeks ago when I saw it there. I don't like the taste that charcoal gives food, not with my stomach issues.

You might have to pay that $60 to have someone carry it back to the back patio for you.

We just picked it up - they wanted $59 to deliver it - he's putting it together in the workshop and he can roll it to the back porch when he's finished.

Darn! But at least Lowes will deliver
Will they install free too??
I too like to see items in store before purchasing especially if it's a bigger item and refunding will be a hassle.

That is too bad you were not able to get the deal on Amazon, but it is nice that Lowes will deliver it to your home.

@AbbyGreenhill Did you pick it up assembled or did you have to put it together once you got home?

@LeaPea2417 We would not have been able to get it in the suv assembled. We were lucky to get the box inside the car! It is a very large grill and it weights 156 pounds. My husband will put it together.

@AbbyGreenhill It's too late to say it, but you could have just stuck it on your Amazon watchlist and waited to see if it came back into stock.

I wouldn't call that procrastinating. Of course I would have done the same thing. It must be a good grill. I hope, your husband enjoys it.

I think we all have paid more for something, then we could have by buying right away. Its better to check other places, as you would have been really unhappy, if it had been cheaper elsewhere without checking. The only other places I would have checked are Target, Home Depot, E-bay and Wal-mart. Some stores price match in my area, so I see my daughter save a lot with one of her phone price compare sites.
