Valentine's Day started in November here!

Valentine's Day started in November!

As soon as the Halloween items were put away in local stores, we noticed a few bits of Valentine's Day items in some stores. We asked a store employee why, as if they were really in charge of the mess associated with Valentine's Day goodies being out in November. One said there was a ton in the back room just waiting for room to be displayed! Isn't that pushing things just a little? Or-maybe we should have everything displayed starting on January 1 and decide which holidays or events we wanted to buy for from day one?

If I were into seasonal decor, I'd just buy it at the Dollar Store the year before. Feh.

There is too much commercialism in this world. Every occasion is being taken advantaged of by the businessmen. The nearer the occasion the more expensive the appropriate stuffs become.

I think it's ridiculous to display things so early - they were even putting Easter Eggs out before the New Year here.

Now that would be interesting to see all the goodies for every holiday in the stores at one time. An aisle reserved for every holiday. Interesting.

When I had a double space building at the flea market I had stuff for every holiday and sold it year around.

@jstory07 I can understand selling it at a flea market like that.

It's crazy the way merchandise comes out so early. I don't see the sense in it.

This discussion reminds me of an avatar my friend @AmbiePam uses which is a little munchkin dressed with parts of all the holidays .

Wow! That is early. I know they had Christmas stuff out in October, but Valentine's items in November. Wow.

Business opportunities are always beckoning to those who are real into it. Those who dare alot wins alot. Now if the stores were aready running for a big catch in november it only means that the owners were hoping for much gain :n months before the reds day...

Two years ago we got valentine hearts at Christmas time and put them out and said stocking stuffers. The whole case sold in a week.

I am surprised to see that this year Valentine's Day is almost ignored. Even last year I saw very little on the shelves.

Funny, there could be "holiday" stores with stuff for every occasion, as you say. There may be already somewhere.

What happened to the other holidays in between? I would think that would be leftover and stale candy from last year. Wouldn't touch it!

I like your idea, all holiday items should be displayed as of Jan 1, that way none of us would have an excuse for not having gotten a loved one something for the occasion of our choice.

It always amazes me on how early some stores put holiday stuff out. By the time the actual holiday gets here, we are already tired of it.
