Unfortunately, I am not invisible

As you can see from the picture that includes my pants leg, I am definitely not invisible. If I sit quietly at the computer and do nothing else, I am safe. On the other hand, if I go to the kitchen to move some goods to the pantry, or worse yet, go to the bathroom, the telephone rings. It is always an unfamiliar number, and the caller does not leave a message. I search for the phone number and learn it is associated with scam calls. If somehow, I manage to mislead the telephone, Princess Kitty immediately becomes vocal and demanding. Her latest great need is to have a trickle of water in the bathroom sink and a person to watch her catch droplets in mid air.

How cute; of course she wants an audience. Our cat is mainly an outdoor cat so he howls at the door all day to convince us to come out. He doesn't want to be alone!

Perhaps they think you are missing out on some royal fun. Like chasing birds and squirrels.

Herc is like that at the moment. He must be feeling insecure for some reason.

If I do not go to bed as early as hubby she runs in and spreads out so we have a battle for me to get in. She decided I had slept in too late this morning, also, and got me up.

Maybe you should have a cordless phone. I got rid of my landline a long time ago. I was tired of paying too much money a month.

@GrannyGee I hear that. I have good service here so I can't complain. I didn't need my home pone anymore.

@inertia4 I wish we had ours back ... another time-saving thing about having a home phone is ... using the fax feature on my printer. :)

We did the same thing ... now, we wish we could afford to get it back. We live in an area where signal isn't the best.

We got rid of the house line several years ago now. We had AT&T and they added something to our bill that we did not use and gave a great fuss about it. We decided then and there that it wasn't something we really needed. Three out of the four of us have cellphones. Luckily we don't receive m(any) telemarketing type calls. We've had cats that love to drink from the faucet, and some that love to take a "human" bath.

I had a cat that liked water. He was a Turkish Van, those are great kitties. I was willing to do away with the landline, but hubby was not. He does not hear as well on a cell. Ours are prepaid.

I am being gone more often lately. The vet also says that she is showing signs of aging. Kind of like dementia.

I get the same scam calls repeatedly, which does seem a waste of time since I have ignored them on several dozen previous occasions. Of course even if I managed to become invisable the telephone would still ring, so I have never bothered trying it.

@GardenGerty Yes, a vast number of such calls these days are automated messages. Telephoning blindly is bad enough, but now they are too lazy to even speak to us their selves.

Dresses as you are like a genie, I would expect it of you. Of course this comment will become irrelevant when you change your avatar again. I think the phone is a robo caller. They do not seem to learn anything.

We have a slow trickle in the bathtub. Dusty will always find the need for a drink when I am in the bathroom. She stops at my feet, rubs against my leg affectionately and jumps in the tub to lap up the water.

I no longer have a landline phone and I never receive any unwanted calls on my cell phone so that is good. My cats don't want so much a drink as food seems like they want food all the time especially the new kitten.

@GrannyGee Wow now that is strange, I wouldn't answer if I wasn't familiar with the area code. Let it ring and take note of the number then call back and you will know who is calling you. You can put your cell number in the No Call website and see if that helps.

My cell is prepaid and I try to only use it away from home. I am not that attached to it. You can start getting lots of calls if you join sites and do offers. You may not want them, but you can get them.

We go thru fits and starts of getting those annoying phonecalls also. I even get them from Bell on my cellphone, that doesn't bother me so much as I usually have the ringer shut off. I love technology that works in my favour.......

Until you climb up on a ladder or step stool, then the call you have waited for all week happens, they hang up, and you call back and get the machine.
