Hello! I'm new here, but I see some familiar faces!

One of my Bubblews friends, Isabelle told me about this site and how many ex-bubblers were here. I signed up a few days ago but this is my first post! I met Isabelle for the first time in person today even though she and I have been online friends since the old Yahoo days. What fun that was! The conversation never lagged and we hopped from one topic to another so fast it made my head swim!
I was happy to see some familiar faces and hope to see more. I was really sorry about losing touch with so many people I liked.
I am Jeannie Marie from the Tampa area of Florida. So who all is here?

I am glad that you got your first post up. everyone is so glad you joined us. This site is actually nicer than the B becasue the admin is so responsive and has a graet sense of humor!! Welcome!! I ate my chicken salad snadwich after midnight!!

I also see that it's quite a stable site as I've met up with people who have been here for ten years. I put effort into three sites when Bubblews began failing, all of which did not pan out. One I earned a check which never came and two others just dissolved along with my earnings. I haven't written anywhere since Bubblews collapsed. About that chicken salad....it was great and what a fun way to serve it. I'm going to make some of those toasted shells today.

Ahhh yes! It was fun! I did a blog post with photos about the meeting, it was so much fun. If you ever get a chance to meet Isobelle, go for it. She travels a lot!

Nice to meet you but, alas, not in person!
I too started at AC/YCN then to Bukisa and Wikinut. Happy that I am here and I do hope to meet online writers on the move like nomads seeking new pastures! I was not eligible for payment at YCN, being non US based, Bukisa changed to AdAense which did not make sense to me, and Wikinut is not paying now.
This site fits me like a glove as I love interaction - siva

That is exactly what I'm happy to hear! Not only is it a stable site but that everyone seems to be really happy here, not just the new ones, but the ones lucky enough to have found it years ago. I don't recall anyone mentioning this site before. So happy to have met you!

@Jeanniemaries I think the administrators take care to keep this site healthy, free from acrimony that I saw in another. Also, we have few who show by example how to enjoy the moments and earn decent amounts in the bargain. Let us take it forward step by step

The email that Yahoo Contributor Network was shutting down came like a bolt from the blue even for the likes of me who were not active. Then what about those who had put in their heart and soul into their posts and built up the community over the years?

That's a great article. It really sums up how I felt as well. It was my first foray into writing online and I really loved it. I was lucky enough to have saved all my articles but I haven't done anything else with them, not even on Bubblews because there is always something new to write about.

Welcome to Mylot Jeannie.
There are quite a few old Bubblews members here now, obviously due to the combination of Bubblews collapsing and several other sites closing or becoming unreliable. I was a member there myself for a while, although I do not think that we actually came across each other on that site.

@Jeanniemaries Mylot is a very stable site and has been around for a long while. I have been a member for over 9 years myself, so I can state that with confidence.

How nice to fit in a vacation during the winter! It makes it go by faster and so lovely to get a reprieve for a short time! I do love the weather up north for all but the winter season.
