I just received yet another "call from unavailable". I get several a day. I never answer an unavailable or unknown call. What is funny is, these unavailable people don't leave a message. I figure if they really need to speak to me they will leave a message. I don't know if I am extra cautious or just plain don't want to be bothered. Don you answer unavailable calls?

No I do not answer all those junk calls. I get tons of them a day. I tell you what is weird is when you get a call, and the ID has your name on it. Caller ID shows that I called myself. It has my name and my number on it. When you answer that call it is only a junk call.

@slund2041 that's what most of the calls are - junk.

I do the same thing, if someone really wants to talk to me they'll leave a message with their phone # so I can call back.

@rebelann I wonder why these people with unavailable don't realize that.

Oh they do @HazySue but not all of them are really friends of ours so those won't leave a callback #. A friend of mine has a message on hers that says if someone with Unvailable or Private #'s call she won't answer so leave her a call back #. Her friends do but then friends usually leave messages in some form.

Youre not alone. I also don't answer unknown numbers as I'm sure it can't be important.Maybe just marketing calls.

@cherriefic I figure they will leave a message if it is important.

Those calls most of the time are from marketers who try to sell you something, this is the best case, in other cases are scammers.

I wouldn't answer either. If they want you they'll leave a message.

Before my agency changed offices, the calls would always come up as private numbers. That was really frustrating because I wouldn't usually answer not knowing who was calling. Now that agency comes up with the agency name, however another company often calls with unknown/private number so I may be missing out on work because I don't know it's them and won't answer! I don't use voicemail so they can't leave messages. While I understand that some companies use private numbers because people deliberately ignore them eg. debt companies, but other than that, I don't trust anyone who uses private numbers. I think they must realise that a lot of people won't answer

I don't answer unknown numbers - if it's important they will leave a message. If not, I guess it isn't important enough.
