Can I interest someone in renting a sumo suit?
Just checked my email, looks like no work today either.
Days off can be okay, but now I am looking at 3 fewer days of pay on my next pay period due to the 'slow season'.
Been doing this job for going on 9 years (Jeez - has it been that long now?) and I know that December through the end of March is always like this, but I can't seem to get my bank account to understand.
At least I always manage to get my tax returns back in February (Fed) and March (State) so it's not as bad as it would be otherwise, but I still have to squeeze those pennies so hard you can hear them scream all the way to Hawaii (if you've heard strange noises lately, that's what it is).
Ah well...business will start picking up in the next 3-4 weeks, and then it'll be a madhouse trying to keep up with the flow of orders until December again.
Meanwhile, now is the time to rent those sumo outfits...I could cut you a really good deal on rental fees.

Black tie is not required
We mostly rent to church youth groups, school functions and such, but we do a lot of individuals as well. And then we've rented to 'big' TV shows like Ellen, Hannah Montana, WWE, several others.

There's something to be said for being able to physically work a 40 hour week, as well, but I can't...

Slow season is the pits. I sure enjoyed it when I got my returns. Got things brought up to date and buy a little clothes and eat out once or twice.

The logistics, cost, and time involved in that make it prohibitive

@JolietJake ..no no...you try to contact somebody staying out there...and employ some unemployed person out there, offering them some commission. South Africa is another country that comes to mind.

@vandana7 No no...do you have a clue what it would cost to ship all that stuff somewhere else, and then get it back later? There would be several thousands of dollars involved in that.

@JolietJake It's an interesting job, I am not sure there is something similar here. You should start a franchising.

Pretty much. It's a bit too much to set up inside your house with an 11 foot circular wrestling mat.

Twenty years ago I was on a committee for the senior all-night party at our local high school. I thought it would be a great idea to rent the sumo wrestling suits. The seniors would have had a blast. Unfortunately the administration refused to let us do this.
