It is Calling My Name

I used canned chicken breast and made a homemade chicken pot pie. It is done, and cooling on top of the stove. It is calling my name. Since it is full of veggies, we will have it as a one dish meal, then we will have ice cream. So I hope you are hungry. I will be back in a little bit. I made my own sauce and the dish has peas and carrots and onions, garlic and celery. The crust is made from milk and eggs and baking mix. Easy peasy.

I have made this using baking mix, milk, and eggs too. I use cream of chicken soup, leftover chicken, and frozen mixed vegetables. Yummy stuff.

I've never made such a pie and I don't recall mom ever making one. I'll bet it would be a lot better than those store bought kinds.

I am going to make my own home made "bisquik" soon. Have to keep it in the fridge, but it makes it so easy to whip up things.

I like that we can talk about our meals and get even more ideas. Sometimes I just draw a blank.

@GardenGerty last night was take out pizza. I was home late and needed to be on my way again in an hour....no time to cook, and I hadn't planned ahead.

I only use fresh meat because chicken is not really canned here. I love spam and canned fishes when it comes to canned meats. When I feel lazy, I use my canned tuna or sardines for sandwiches and shortcut pasta sauces.

Yum. Last week I made a tuna pot pie. The crust was the usual pie crust. Sauce was home made. Yours sounds tasty.

I´ve never done a pot pie. It is not in my culture. I guess that, after your explanations, I´ll have to do some checking in the web. It sounds delicious.
