What would you do if you found out you were adopted and had a twin sister?
Would you hunt for your birth parents or you sibling?
After looking into your adoption history and contacting the adoption agency about your medical history you found out about this sibling would you try to find out where she is?

I have a good friend who was adopted and she did look for and found her birth family. She said it was all very interesting and a blessing in disguise to be adopted. She herself is single, yet has adopted six children. All but one are adults. Her youngest is a senior in high school.

Without going into it I wish I had been adopted and if I had been I would have looked for any siblings and not the birth parents until I had spoken to them.
I admire, respect people who adopt

@GreatMartin
I also admire people who adopt children, I have know couples who have adopted and being able to finally have a child in their home was so wonderful for them and the child.

@Marcyaz I would like to find the parents to know why. It could be just the girl was to young or some reason it was better to let them go.

Never having been faced with that possibility, I don't know what I would do.
This is like the question on of my brothers hated. He was one of a set of twins. The question, What is it like to be a twin?

Yes, I think I would do. I'd want to know why I'd been adopted, why I had been separated from my twin, and to find out all about them.

I am not sure what i would do Marcy. It seems most adopts want to get in contact with their birth parents and siblings.
I hope that all those who do adopt children realize this that one day they may want to meet their own real parents.

Siblings I would want to meet but not the people who gave me up as i have real parents who were there for me when I needed them.

I know i would have no interest in meeting parents who didn't want me in the first place when I already have loving parents.

Good for you some people would not want to know. I would want to know if I had a twin out there somewhere. I would want to meet and see what we have in common.

It would be nice to find her but wouldn't you want to get to know her, she would not have been part of your crazy adopted family.

Yeah I would do anything to try and find her. Not only would it piece my life together, but it would do the same for her also. I'd also search for the birth parents too. I would have a lot of questions to ask if this ever happened to me.

@Marcyaz It's really hard to say if you haven't been adopted, but I just don't really know. I am the spitting image of my mom so I know I'm not lol.

I know that I would try to find them if that happened to me. It would be interesting to see how much we looked alike or how different. It would be neat to see if our personalities and interests are similar. I have heard some really neat stories over the years about things like this. Some have sad endings though but I would have to hope for the best if it were me.

I'd be rather curious. Funny thing, when I was young I thought for a while that I was adopted. Just a writer's active imagination I guess.

I think when one is very young we all think that as I remember I did also.

@Marcyaz May be, anyway I know that I am not adopted because I needed my full certificate of birth when I moved to another country. It took months to have, we must have a serious reason to obtain a birth certificate with the name of the parents and the witness to the birth.

I'm sure if there is a 'twin' out there that they are feeling that something is missing @Marcyaz as twins have a specific connection to each other.

Then when they found each other they would know what had been missing in their life.
