Things some moms have said to their kids

United States
March 15, 2016 6:48am CST
There are many 'sayings' out there some are funny and some are down right silly, but most of us probably have heard one or two of these sayings from our moms such as: * Keep making that face and it will freeze that way. * The more you cry the less you pee. * Because I said so. * Change your underwear every day in case you get in an accident and have to go to the hospital. * Say that one more time and I'll wash your mouth out with soap. * You can go but you have to take your little sister (brother) with you. * Please stop telling the neighborhood kids that Santa isn't real. * Multiplication tables aren't that hard, one more time...12 x 12 equals..... * Flunk and you go to summer school. * I don't care that the other kids are going. * That's it, Santa isn't bringing you anything. What can you add to this list? Photo:pixabay.com/en/shield-board-saying-set-monitoring-808737/

My older son was really afraid of heights when he was real small and if he climbed something, he could not go back down, so, I would always say to him "your just like a cat who climbs a tree and can't get down".

@AbbyGreenhill I remember once, we visited the top of a Light House in Florida. We climbed all the way to the top to see the great views. It was a big winding stair case. My older son was age 6 and small enough to still be carried. When it was time to go down, he pitched a fit and really cried saying he couldn't go back down those stairs. Luckily, my husband was strong enough to carry him down. Our 2nd son was a baby, so I carried him everywhere. I don't know what I would have done, if my husband hadn't been there to carry him down!

@LeaPea2417 You would have had to get the rescue squad or fire department to get him down. I bed he loves it when you tell that story!

I guess you had to help get him down. Boys love to climb.

I was warned about the big black book in heaven that was recording my naughty deeds. It rather coloured my picture of God but thankfully I grew out of it.

That's the first time I've heard the second one on your list. The only other one I can think of is "go ask your father"

My mother has never said any of those to me. My dad is the one who always done stuff for me involving school and he has never said the others either. My mother wasn't also so nice with the things she has said.

"When you grow up I hope you have a daughter just like you", usually following "you are just like your dad's family" (whom she did not like). My daughter is awesome, and she tells people she takes after me. I am not sure about that, but she is awesome.
