I missed Easter altogether

Greece
March 28, 2016 1:03pm CST
We have just returned from 12 days in England, a very special time which started with me sharing birthdays with my twin brother. We had a busy schedule visiting friends and family. Good Friday was spent driving from Wales to England, a four hour journey - and on Easter Sunday we were flying back to Greece! However here in Greece Easter is late this year so we will have a second chance to celebrate the most important event in the world. It was sad to see the fields of home fading into the distance as the plane rose in the sky but the lights of Athens were welcoming as the plane began to descend once more.

@41combedaleroad Happy Birthday and Happy Easter. It's good you get to celebrate them both. I love Easter - it's so much less cluttered with extraneous nonsense than Christmas and you can get down to the business of celebrating the resurrection without lots of festive silliness. (I'm not really grumpy!!!)

I have saved the chocolate bunny a friend gave me for when the Orthodox celebrations start. I know there is a lot of nonsense attached to Easter but I am not going to say no to anything chocolate, whether it is an egg or a bunny!

I hope you enjoyed your time in England. I think that there is a special bond between twins, it surely was a pleasure to celebrate together your birthday.

Ten of us sat down to a celebration meal so it was a special one to his family as well as to mine.

Why don't you write another post and tell all of us what being a twin is like growing up. I think that would be an interesting post. Remember to include the good and bad.

The last birthday we shared was 17 years ago! So this one was long overdue. I shall take up your suggestion some time soon.

What a great trip you had and sharing your birthdays had to be great again. I always wanted a twin but I could not picture 2 of me running around.

@41I always wanted a boy and girl twin before I had my children. My two were only 20 months apart and that was close enough.

@41CombedaleRoad I know many Brits become ex-pats seeking warmer climates.

My brother and sister are twins and I was born on their eighth birthday. It would be sad leaving family behind.
