....I'll show you how my garden grows! This is photo taken yesterday of our 8 x 16 raised bed. The rows on the left side are various types of lettuce. Two are producing and the third is still in the growing process. To the far right side are peas, carrots and Swiss chard. Peas are cool weather crops and since we're having warm weather, I don't know how much of a crop we will wind up with. Carrots are slow growers, so it will be months before they are ready. The Swiss chard should be picking size in about 3 weeks and it will product all summer In the middle (at the ends) are tomato plants. We only buy two since we will get enough to satisfy our needs plus some for the neighbor. Green beans and squash can be planted next week and that will finish off the garden. By mid-summer that whole 8 x 16 area will be full of beautiful plants and veggies. So myLotters how does your garden grow?

Where in the USA do you live? It must be a warm region. German gardens are still quite empty. The nights are still cold with occasional frost.

@AbbyGreenhill I'd like to feel the temperature with you, but I don't live in the USA and don't understand Fahrenheit. :-(( People in Celsius countries wouldn't survive 63 degrees. They'd melt.

We have not planted our garden spot yet. We will do it in a week or so. We need to buy some bags of mulch before we get it started.

My lettuces are fully grown, the tomato plants more or less like yours, I have six tomato plants and I think I have planted too many, I wonder what I am going to do with all those tomatoes.

@AbbyGreenhill We all plant tomatoes here and we finally do not know what to do with all those tomatoes. I will make some bottles of "passata", to use to make sauces.

For many years we had a dozen tomato plants and we supplied tomatoes to our whole sub-division plus he made lots of sauce. Now we just do enough for one or two a day for lunch and salads. You might have to give some away.

You can dry them and use them for sauces next winter.

That looks very neat. When you plant in the middle do you have to climb into the bed? I haven't got anything in my garden yet - I'll wait another couple of weeks.

It's just a few steps for my husband to get to the middle. But we try to plant stuff there that we don't have to get to very often. Right now there is a sweet potato in there (I forgot about it until I saw it a while ago with new leaves.).

@AbbyGreenhill That makes sense to plant things in the middle that don't need much attention.

@jaboUK Our mistake was we should have had it made a foot more narrow, but we work with it.

I don't garden because it seems plants do not grow when i plant . I experienced it before so i never tried again . How i wish i am your neighbor so i can ask for some whenever i ran out of veggies . Does your neighbor buy from you or you just give them some ?

My garden is still growing under lights in our spare room waiting for it to warm up outside. I'm super excited this year, my son built a raised bed frame. I plan to have gardens and things growing all over the yard. I've got about 20 Apple and Pear branches, right next to me I should be trimming to start new little trees.

Good to see everything growing there. In summer we grow lettuces, beans and tomatoes mainly. They are finished now but the herbs are thriving. So are the weeds unfortunately
