~The Dryer Caught On Fire!~

We bought a dryer last week from a moving sale. The guy told my husband it worked good, they were just moving and trying to down size so they were getting rid of it. The guy brought it to our house, but we couldn't test it out because the laundry room had a bunch of things in it. Well today we brought it in the laundry room once we cleaned it out. And...it caught on fire!! My husband started cleaning it out after he brought it outside and there was so much lint in that thing it was insane. Apparently they NEVER cleaned out the lint trap...ever. Now he is blowing it all out and going to make sure the lint is completely cleaned out before trying it again. Hopefully no more fires will happen! So...that was our craziness for the day. How has your day been going?

I have to get one of those long handled brushes to clean out our dryer. What scares me is that it vents under the trailer. The dust in here is horrible. I could dust 3x a day and still have dust at days end. I am glad that you caught the fire before it could spread. Dryer fires are more common than people think.

@LovingMyBabies we have an air compressor. Maybe I can talk my hubby into bringing inside to clean the dang thing out.

@ElusiveButterfly Yeah you might want to. It could be really bad if it's not cleaned out like it should be.

@ElusiveButterfly Yeah my husband used his air compressor and a vacuum cleaner. It was all the lint though that they just never cleaned out...for some unknown reason... Yes me too! It could have been MUCH worse!

Oh my goodness. I'm glad nobody got hurt and that is crazy that they never cleaned out the lint trap. My day was okay, busy taking care of kids and babysitting. Had a good dinner out and put my crazy kids to bed late.

I have heard of horror stories like that. Glad you are all ok and no serious damage resulted. Is this a pic of the units? they sure are nice!! Its amazing but simple routine cleaning is 85% of maintenance of most tools/appliances

@sulynsi Yeah me too, thank you! We are all okay and that is the most important thing. No damage-another thing to be grateful for. =) Nah, it looks close to this though-it's a front loader dryer.
