Freezing Weather below the Equator

The winter flower blooms.

The weatherman had it wrong today suggesting we should have a low of 11*C to a max 19*C . . . . It was minimum 3*C and never got warmer than 12*C with an icy wind from the Cape due to snow falls all over the Mountains in central SA. We were unprepared for the icy cold and eventually those that were playing bowls were layered with strangers jackets to help keep the warmth in. We were a sorry sight to see, but warm at least. I had a fall-out game but a good learning game at least. Tomorrow we do it again in lower temperatures but at least we will all have our own layers of extra's. Lawn Bowling is not for sissies. Now we are watching Ireland give South Africa a beating on the rugby field, it might be a first ever for the Irish, history in the making. I made some lovely pancakes for supper to have with a cuppa warm anything. How has your day been? Photo is of the winter fields of flowers

My better half is from Johannesburg, he tells me the winters there are milder than here. You must live in a different area or the weather has changed. He also watches all the sports. I made blueberry pancakes this morning for breakfast. Very tasty.

Tell your other Half that winters over the last 10 years have seen snow in Jozie more often. It's very cold today. He can check a weather ap as well if he is interested. However our winters are dry and today was very icy windy too. Snow on Swartberge, Drakensberge and Maluti mountains at Golden Gate. My hubby loves pancakes in cold weather.

I agree - and last night my thoughts went to all the homeless as the wind and the freezing rain poured down and I had so many blessings to count that I was actually a little ashamed.

Yes, winter can be difficult especially with outdoor sports. Enjoy the heat and no words of complaints.

My day had been fine until you started to torment me by eating pancakes when I do not have any.

We had breakfast at a walkmate's home. What a way to replenish the burned calories hahaha! I ate little though, as I usually do :) Hope you're enjoying your pancake, Lany!

its ok - You have not read some of them that were written a year ago - sometimes older ones come up - luckily they are not stuck in any time warp.

@Inlemay Yes, that's true Lany. Discussions get back to life when someone makes a comment and if someone like me rushed to drop a line too, then it's a big embarrassment to realize that the comment would have been late by then hehehe!

We had two dry days, Friday and Saturday, the temperature not hot, but warmer than last week. Today is partly cloudy, but pleasant. We are all searching for Willy, my lovely part time cats, it's the second day he is missing.
