There is an awful lot of Empty out there

My evening did not go as planned. Hubby wanted to scout out the location of the car show he is going to tomorrow. It is a fund raiser for the little town's fire department. There were two routes given, so he chose to go the route that looked the most logical to him. It was not, it was more than 50% back roads. No signs, no houses, just cattle, and oil wells, and deer on gravel roads. Nothing really to tell us where we were. The fields and hills are beautiful and green. The roads went up and down like a roller coaster. I know that there are places in the United States and around the world that are crowded full of people.Kansas is not one of those places. There is an awful lot of empty out there where I live.

So there are still some places with a lot of empty. Here we have some too. Idaho is beautiful anyway you look at it.

I always think of Idaho as being fairly rural. It is one of the states I have not visited yet. I need to visit it someday.

@GardenGerty .....We are famous for our potatoes. We also have beautiful mountain ranges, white water rafting, forests, glacier lakes, ski resorts, etc.

If you drive to fast on them they certainly can.We came up over a rise and down at the bottom were two deer who looked as surprised to see us as we were them.

Sometimes it's nice to just drive those roads for the scenery...unfortunately when I have driven them it's because I was lost.

We were sort of lost. It was getting dark and there was nothing to confirm our location. It still was fun. We must have seen at least a dozen deer.

I love empty spaces, we are seeing less and less of those around here.

That is one reason I am glad to have moved.

We have several places that are not crowded even here in Switzerland, it's enough to stay away from the big cities.

I like being able to see my surroundings and appreciate them. There are a few larger cities in Kansas, but still lots of space.

So will you be trying the other route on the day? At least you saw some new country I guess.

We did see lots of new area, and we did use the alternate route to go home. Much better for driving and no deer jumping in front of us.

@GardenGerty Deer on the roads must be as bad as our kangaroos.
