No wonder people come to myLot confused

Okay...you are a new user...you sign up to myLot. When you are in the process of creating your account, there is a place to click and see the Terms, but almost no one actually reads them. Fair enough, if not quite 'kosher'. But nowhere during or after the signup process (or even on the 'Terms' page) are you shown a link to the Community Guidelines or the Earnings FAQS. Nowhere. You are shown links to 'Settings' and to 'Explore'....but you aren't even given any type of clue where to look for any rules. This is a glaring oversight. For some reason, I was sure these were at least mentioned, but no. Nothing. Maybe I need to reassess myself and start going a little easier on newbies...

I usually just drop a link to any violators. Unless of course I see they are insistent upon it, in which case I report them. But yup, Admin needs to do a bit of tweaking and get that guideline page blaringly obvious.

@JolietJake I remember that. Wonder if admin has fallen along with it? I've not seen GAA in awhile... though I know someone is working in the background.

There was mention (many many moons ago) of 'updating' the signup procedure, etc., but it seems to have fallen into a vast chasm

No wonder...being a newbie here several years ago, I didn't have any idea what to do but somehow I managed not to break the rules. Till I discovered there's such thing as HELP.

@JolietJake You were so welcoming back then I didn't feel your presence at all.

Yeah, if they don't know its there or available then they can't really be blamed for their ignorance. I think it would be easy enough for Admin. to add a link to 'Terms' and move those things around a little so they are easier to find.

I really thought they were at least pointed in the right direction...but nope.

It seems like it would be easy enough for them to add links to that content during the sign up process. How about it, @myLotBugs?

@JolietJake I guess one could argue that it is there in the menu like always, but... fat lot of good that does when it's kinda hidden like that. I'm kind of coming around to @sugartoes' way of thinking, too, in that some simple video tutorials could be a really useful thing to introduce users to the site.

@yukimori Yeah, but they aren't even pointed at the menu...if they can link settings and explore, they can link that menu as well

I normally just give a link as it's easier than explaining...if they don't read it that's up to them

I wonder if the TOS could be displayed at the bottom or top of the dialog box in which we type our posts each time when we want to make a start to a discussion or respond to one.

Hmm, I didn't realize they didn't mention it when new people come here. They definitely should as that would be a big help to the newbies.

it is not, and stuff that is useful is buried under "help", which I assumed was one of those "send a email to the site for assistance" links, you know?

I hate that awful green person avatar. I wish they would give people a variety of avatar's to pick from if they don't care to use their own photo.

I was confused a bit as I have not found the rules and regulations. God bless that Mylotters are very helpful to the members who need assistance.

If you still haven't found them, mouse over your name at the top left and choose 'Help' from the drop-down menu

It was very confusing when I first got here. I could not find the rules. I always look for the rules and earning information right away when I go to a new site.

I didn't know there were terms to read until someone posted the link. And then I read 'em. Fortunately I didn't break any of the rules before I discovered they existed.

But I think the links are at the bottom of the homepage? (I'd have to check when I get back on my laptop) I know that I read them before I signed up to the site, at least
