My laptop is acting up, it is a pain in the nether region. I start a discussion here on MyLot and before I can publish it, it gets lost in cyberspace. I try to comment and it doesn't let me type right. It becomes sluggish and doesn't print out letters. It takes me a while to get through a comment. Everything is slowing down somewhat. MyLot is not responding on my computer and then it does. I think I might have to get another computer. This one is about 6 years old. I wonder if it is just getting old and tired and doesn't want to do this anymore. I'll have to think about it.

Sounds like you need to threaten it and if that doesn't work, replace it.

@HazySue Every time I've threatened Chip, he starts behaving and working for me. I think he's doing exceptionally well right now because he knows his replacement is on the floor behind me and he's not going to the new apartment with me. Threats work. I know it seems silly because it's not physically intelligent, but I can't deny how well it works when I threaten it.

@just4him I guess you just to get tough to keep them in line. I love that you named your laptop.

@just4him I thought about giving it a good swat but then I thought it might stop working all together.

Run a defrag, clean out junk, get rid of stuff you downloaded and don't need - clear history - all that should help a little. Mine is about 5 years old and runs like a champ.

@HazySue Sometime doing that and then shutting off and on works magic.

@HazySue This afternoon I am going to work on a faster computer and I check if it's the site.

@LadyDuck I am beginning to think that maybe it isn't the computer but the site.

It MIGHT be the laptop but I don't think so as most have the exact same issues occasionally, some more than others. Like keyboard lag may not be the keyboard but the connection or problems with the site. It happened to me a lot for a month or 2 then stopped then started again and currently I'm having no problems. I think it's more likely to be the site.

@Mike197602 you might be right. It really doesn't seem to happen on other sites. Thanks.

@HazySue Don't ditch the laptop just yet. Maybe it's infected with virus. A good cleanup with an anti virus might help.

@succeednow I wouldn't get rid of it, my husband could use it occasionally. I've been told it does not have a virus.

@NJChicaa I think I'll hang on a while longer to see if it is my computer or the site.
