Today at noon we ate grilled chicken breast, yellow squash, fresh tomatoes and berry pie. So tonight I had a pbj sandwich. I have not had one in a long time. I found I had really missed having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. So good!!

I love a good old fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I usually eat two for a meal every few weeks.

@GardenGerty Have you tried mixing butter in your peanut butter before spreading it on your bread?

@shaggin In elementary I had a friend that always had peanut butter with butter and no jelly. I have not tried that. I like apple butter mixed in to peanut butter.

On the other hand, your lunch sounds really good! I had peanut butter (sans jelly; I don't care for it) last night.

@GardenGerty I am ready for some homemade soup, but it's way too hot for that!

THis time of month we quite often have PBJ's. They are tasty when there is nothing else sweet to be had.

They are a good source of protein, too. Hubby takes that if we have no leftovers.

about once every couple of months I take a craving for peanut butter and have it. but not with jelly any more. I sometimes take a notion for jelly also but with margarine or something else. reason I don't have them together any more is because when I first married we were starting out and since we were like kids our main food was pb & jelly sandwiches and fries got a bit burned out on it.

Just about anything can get old after a while. That is how many people feel about ramen noodles.

Yum. My hubby just made peanut butter today. I need to go to the store for some jam. You've made me hungry.

@sallypup I have a couple of juicers, some blenders and food processers. Surely I can do this.

@GardenGerty We bought a Champion juicer. It cranks out good nut butters.

@DianneN I have heard of putting butter in it or milk to make it less likely to choke you.

My doctor would like me to eat a spoon full of peanut butter at bed time, no bread. I agree it is good on toast as well.

Peanut allergies can be life threatening. Have you tried almond or cashew butter?

@GardenGerty No, I have never tried, those products are not easily available here. I love to eat almond and walnuts, that I always buy in their shells and I open myself to be sure that there are no residues of peanuts inside.

@Jessicalynnt I use stevia to sweeten drinks and to sweeten my smoothie just a bit. Vanilla stevia makes delicious lemonade.
