Am I strange when it comes to chicken, bananas, and eggs?

I'm fairly "normal" I think, but I do have a few little weird things about me. Well, maybe not weird so much as eccentricities. I never eat chicken salad made by someone I do not know. Even then, it's iffy. My chicken salad has no skin, gristle, dark pieces, fat, or anything other than perfectly white pieces of chicken. My banana pudding is actually banana-less banana pudding. I love the flavor, but cannot abide dark pieces of banana after it's cooked. And if I do actually put bananas in the pudding, there are no strings, bruised spots or anything other than perfectly white pieces of banana. Don't even get me started about eggs. Yes, I know they don't do this in restaurants, but at home I have to take out the little white string that's attached to the yolk. Are you peculiar about stuff like that?

I think we all have our food issues. Most of mine have to do with allergies. I don't have the luxury of being picky, or I wouldn't be able to eat at all.

I'm not the world's best housekeeper, but there are just some things that bug me. I think I might have a little OCD going on.

@1creekgirl A little OCD is good for one, helps keep the filth away. I think hoarders have whatever is the opposite of OCD.

Not really, although I do fry my bacon in even strips, I could never just stir up a bunch of it all together. I think I'm fairly normal about other things.

You are the first person I know who take that effort to take out anything dark in color from white colored food stuff. I know someone who can cook but will not even taste chicken soup or anything related to chickens, but this habit only developed outer an ancient taboo..

Wow, what kind of ancient taboo?
@waflay (2737)

@1creekgirl Okay, greedy men decided to impose a taboo on chicken against girls and women because in those days the kitchen area was the only room that men were not allowed into. To make sure that they get the whole delicious chicken by themselves--- and their boys--, they forged a way to keep women away from cooked chicken. They said that 'chicken and its soup could make a woman barren and she will never keep her marriage'. Well, it worked for some women but in other families, girls were allowed to feast on chicken.

I wouldn't say that's weird or eccentric. I'm particular about stuff like that too (and not just food!). I'd like to call it being prim and proper rather than weird.

I'm not really picky other than the fact I won't eat animals. Apart from that I can't stand the sight, taste or smell of avocados and olives!!!!

Well, the dark banana pieces are the sweetest and the dark chicken meat is the juiciest, so I am not on the same page with you.

@1creekgirl Vicki, I wonder how many people really are normal. I would say everyone has their own things that others would think are weird.

I am the same way when it comes to chicken, only perfect white pieces for me. Theven same goes for potatoes. When I peel them every little piece of peel and spot has to be removed. I won'the eat bruised fruit and I am sure there are others that I just can't think of now.

None of the things you mentioned here. I'm trying to think of something off the top of my head, but I can't think of anything. As for MY chicken salad, you MIGHT likely find dark pieces and some skin. But to me that makes it better.

I tend to take those stringy white things off the eggs too. I don't blame you on the chicken. Chicken is a meat that spoils easily and quickly. No, bananas that are turning color are not appetizing. If I make a pudding, I wait to put them in at the last minute before serving.

I am particular about what I eat when not making it myself but the one thing that drives me crazy is when my grandkids eat out of a bag of chips rather than putting a portion in a bowl. I hate when they lick their fingers and keep sticking their hands in the bag.
