"They deleted my discussion and didn't even tell me! Or tell me why! Or ANYTHING!
I know I said I read the Terms when I joined, but who reads those? myLot is a bunch of doo-doo dinky-dum heads for not telling me!!! "
They DID tell you...and you said you read it.

I do think they need to rewrite the guidelines, make them more black and white, and call them rules.

Notification would be nice but could be time consuming.

They had an automated system on the old old version, but I don't know if they'll ever get one here or not.

People find it hard to accept they have violated the rules, somehow.

You can lead a horse to water.....but you can't make him read the guidelines.

@JolietJake I think reading and comprehending are different - they might read but not get it.

@AbbyGreenhill Yeah, but you'd think 'English only' would be fairly easy to understand

Amen. You can even leave a link, and they'll say 'I read them' and then still just do whatever.

@JolietJake I know they've deleted your from time to time but that's what happens if and when you continually push the envelope. Do you think you might learn from your 'mistakes' eventually?

Probably not. It's not as though they run around deleting them for no reason, although they could if they wanted to.
I had a disagreement with staff a few weeks ago about one...but I kept it within a PM exchange, and didn't turn around and do the exact same thing, or complain in a discussion about it...but then again I am more or less accustomed to losing them occasionally.
Sometimes I s-t-r-e-t-c-h the boundaries a bit too far and they snap back on me.

You can, and on few occasions, you may even get it back, but not if it is a guideline violation.

wow JJ you are really cooking
and telling it as it is.One
person who complained
about having discussions
deleted claimed she knew
the guide lines so it was a
glitch' but noticed she had
one other discussion that
also had broken several rules.
so much for
glitches.

They deleted one of mine, and never told me, before they did it. If a post causes more harm than good; makes fun of someone; or if it is done for the "sole" purpose of getting $$$, but does not really promote a good conversation, other than just commenting to be commenting, then they will delete it. Or if it is a "one liner" that does not promote a good healthy conversation, they will delete it. It is one thing to be silly once. But if that is all you post just to get $$$, they will sometimes delete some of them, as well. You are developing a reputation of starting posts that "cry wolf" all the time, and that can get old to some people. All I know is... I have been told that if you really want to know why, just get a hold of Alex, and he will tell you.

Alex is not the only person that deletes posts, however, and sometimes he doesn't know anything about it.
