Fakes

Hello friends that's my discussion on fake people. I really don't get why people come on here acting fake. Guys using avatars of girls. People claiming things that are 'theirs' that are copied from the Internet. Fake stories (that they claim are real) of what has happened to them. All sorts of little things. Even pretending to be several different people...at the same time. Is it insecurity with whom they really are? Is it a lust for money? (They sure won't get a bunch here) Do they just gets 'kicks' from fooling people? I just wonder. Oh well...I show the real me...warts and all. Unsightly blemishes. Scars. Unseemly history. The Real Dealâ„¢. I don't have the time (or the inclination) to be fake. But I guess that is what makes the world go 'round. By the way, how about this painting? Do you think it is good?

Money, I wouldn't chase someone for. Now, if you had bacon, you might have to hide from me.

I've been several different people while writing for forum content sites but it was expected there.' Here not only is it against the rules but it's pointless anyway. You'll do better just being yourself.' That won't make you rich either. I do write with a pseudonym but I live in a small town with a hand painted welcome sign that says pop. 20 and we're a family of seven.

Canada is still a few acres big though...can I get there without a plane? Could I just hop on the Internet and ride the signal to your place? I'll even bring my own coughee...

@JolietJake I'm a little paranoid about my identity after working in call centres for a long time. I'm the only person with my first and last name in Canada. My family name is unique to my small brood east of Ontario.

Funny how much deceit and lies can be acted out for money. They actually have to work twice as hard as normal, law abiding people do. Their problem.

Most people here are indeed 'real'. The 'fake' ones are normally only fooling themselves.

@JudyEv I don't know where he is hiding his Extra-Strength PantherPowerâ„¢ pills at, but he must eat them by the paw-full. My avatar is actually from a day he broke the lead but I cropped it...here you can see it from a different angle

It is not only here on mylot my dear friend. Fake people are just all over on this earth. No matter what they aren't affected by what you say about them. All you need to do is keep away from such people the moment you realize about them and also learn lessons of life that they also teach us.

Hide the true identity in cyberspace, for me is a natural thing as long as not harming others. For me, it's all about comfort and safety.

Painting? I already deal with enough fake-o's in life . . . sad that we even have to deal with fake-o's here from time to time but we will see right through them, or at least eventually.

Oh yes, I'm a great pretender! I tell people I'm pretentious. I like to pretend that I'm strong though deep inside I want to cry and just be weak. I can't show my weakness to anybody so I'm always pretending that I'm strong. I don't claim other people's name as my own, other people's job as my own, other people's picture as my own, etc. I am what you see in my avatar, edited to make myself look flawless lol! There goes the pretender again, pretending to look perfect even though I'm not!

@sugartoes I don't think I have a dark past though. Most people in the place i live in know everything about me but just don't know much about my personality.

@sugartoes surely. That's my personality. But hiding a dark past is different. Never thought of my past as dark. I think it's normal for people to act happy at times and depress at times. it's the cycle of life.

I see that Scar is attached to a new bigger chain. I hope he would not escape again. The world is full of people who wear a mask. Most of the time it's to show that they are more important, intelligent, rich and whatever else, than they really are.

@JolietJake Scar is incredible, I do not understand how he succeeded to bend the smaller clip.

The clip in the end is aluminum so it isn't very heavy for him, but it's strong enough he can't bend it open like he did a smaller one I used to use...

@LadyDuck He's just incredibly strong for his size...he's really not a big cat, just average size, but when he pulls on the lead it feels like there is a big dog on the end of it. Here are two of the clasps he has broken...the first was the original clips from the lead where he snapped one end off, the second is what I replaced it with that he bent open jerking on it...the bigger one I use now seems to be holding up okay

Well, as you ask: it's no oil painting, but I would not like to meet that guy on a dark night... I think the effort needed to maintain two personæ would have limiting value, why not invest the effort in a single persona and make more than twice the cents in less than half the time...

maybe they are miserable, so pretending to be something they are not makes them feel better. I dont care what gender their avatar is really, gender is just a suit a soul wears, so doesnt matter much to me. Now stealing work and claiming it is yours, that one bugs me

It's not as bad as it used to be, but many guys from a certain area of the world used to use avatars of beautiful women to try to get people to pay more attention to them. I kind of like knowing if I am talking to a guy or a girl, it does affect my perceptions and such a little.

Back in 1995 when I first began chatting online, I did meet a LOT of fakes! I could not believe the number of people who were online just to play games with people's heads. So when I meet people who are the real deal, I breathe a sigh of relief. And I don't bother with chat sites anymore, which makes a difference.

@JolietJake malarkey is a good word for it. back then there wasn't much else to do online so I did hang out in some chat rooms and eventually met some remarkable people. So, for me, it was worth it in the end.
