One of the things we've harvested at the preschool is sage. It grows like crazy in our garden. One of the other teachers told me it can be soothing for the tummy. I brought a bunch home and brewed up some sage tea. I didn't have honey here, so I added a bit of maple syrup. It was really good and made me feel relaxed overall, though my tummy was fine to start with. I'm going to experiment with it more. Do you have favorite herbal remedies that actually work?

Sage is also good to ward off evil spirits, I like the way it smells when its burned. I wasnt aware you could make tea with it though

@Marty1 Sage has a very distinctive smell and taste, it's hard to describe. Sage has a fragrant aroma and an astringent but warm flavor. Greeks and Romans used the sage to cure snake bites and to invigorate the mind and body. In the Middle Ages, people drank Sage in tea and used Sage to treat colds, fevers, liver trouble, and epilepsy. It is a healthy herb.

Yeah. You know fenu greek seeds? If I have acute tummy pain, or if I have constipation, I take them. It works well for me. One teaspoonful downed with water...I am advised do it for one month to reduce 2 kilos...but I am not going to try something like that and get into problems later on.

@Tampa_girl7 - I agree that it is fun to try new things ... especially when someone gives us a good suggestion or recommendation that they have actually tried.

Bay leaves, for an upset tummy three bay leaves in some boiling water (I nuke the cup with three leaves in it), let it sit for three minutes, remove leaves. Now SIP the tea, you wont need much. Very soothing.

I kind of hate that the sage is flourishing before those cold winter months when it goes so well in a soup or something. I have tons of sage, but never use it.

I don't play with what I eat or drink. I don't know the side effects, so I don't risk it.

Sage tea sounds interesting...I haven't seen Sage grow here. ..we just get it dried up in bottles...that won't work for tea...will it?
