The doctor finally diagnosed my condition

There's a hole in my soul Where my feelings go They slip through the hole And fall far below There's a tear in my heart And the blood falls through It keeps me apart From you, and you There's a drain on my brain Letting thoughts slip away Leaving only the pain Growing day after day And the list goes on...and on...and on...

@JolietJake I am glad there is no cure for your poetry, because it's good as it is.

The hole in our soul is a bunch of hooey. A person who owns a cat has a full and working soul. We all have tears in our heart. Life does that. A drain in your brain? If I had done as much of that stuff as you say you have I'd have a hole in my brain too.

Thanks. I don't write as much as I did when I was younger, but I still throw a few out there occasionally.

A doctor who can write and knows poetry, how to recite! I'll bet that was quite a fright...

Damn @JolietJake ; that is outstanding!!!!! I didn't know you had the P (poet) in you. I will be by your side through thick and thin, To help patch the hole that you have that's within. To bring back that smile and wit you possess, Hopefully to help relieve any stress.

I don't write as much as I used to, but I still get the urge occasionally RAISE THE WALLS Sorrow and despair Blank faces everywhere Stare with hungry need At others driven by greed No easy solution To war and pollution That fills the sky Darkening my eye And so I raise the walls... Screams fill my ear Both far and near Of children weakened by hunger Families driven asunder Blocking out the traces Of angry faces Better to be alone Behind high walls of stone And so I raise the walls... And so for a time Peace fills my mind All worries and care Are blocked out there While inside I lie still... Fighting the will... To be part of the masses The trod upon classes That while blocked from my sight I still hear in the night As they call for me To set myself free Of this prison of stone That I built all alone... So lonely inside... Why need I hide... For wasn't there love And a smile from above To counter the screams And brighten my dreams And friends' smiling faces Leading to places Of warmth, love and joy Is my wall just a ploy To fool my own mind... So much I left behind And so I raze the walls... And start living again. ©2012 Michael Joseph Ratcliffe

@JolietJake Absolutely outstanding. You do have the gift. This ought to send @jaboUK into a spin. I think you and I have some similarities in thought.

@charlie09 .. Nope...he meant doc is so confused with the kind of knowledge he is filled with, that he simply is reciting alll that stuff. No analysis...

Sounds like something that a doctor can't cure or diagnose. Let me recommend my personal physician... Johnnie Walker. Solves most if not all my problems.
