A Few Bargains

A year ago when we bought this property I said we would need a riding lawn mower. Hubby has resisted, although I am the one who does the mowing mostly.Well the other day he spotted four used riding mowers chained together, with a for sale sign on them and a phone number. We agreed that the John Deere would be our best choice. The person selling them said it needs a new clutch and he will put one in if we would like. We told him we would buy it if he did. We will pay $400 for it as soon as he has it ready. So we are budgeting for that. I learned this morning that our church is hosting a funeral and dinner on Tuesday. I said I would bring a salad. We decided to go to Sam's Club to get a few things, including things for a salad. In the next parking lot we saw a Sears Outlet store. We were at a Sam's Club we do not usually go to. Hubby and I went in and looked around. We had driven my Monte Carlo, so did not have a large capacity. That was too bad. They had a great sale going on, with 20% off the prices that were already discounted. We learned that we could purchase an item and take two weeks to pick it up. I have been saving Lowe's cards to shop with for a stove, but we found several we really liked at the Sears Outlet. Long story short, we used our Sears card and paid $269 for a nice new stove, that includes tax. It is not fancy with lots of electronics, but it is just what I wanted. We will use the Lowe's cards to get materials to work on the shed for hubby. His garage needs some roof repairs and insulation. After we pay for the mower we can pay the Sear's bill off, or I can transfer the funds from my PayPal to do it. We feel we have had some good bargains today.
