Have I Got Plans For Tomorrow?

Thursday is my "free" day. My elderly father goes to a Day Program. The bus picks him up right at our door and delivers him to the program he participates in. All day long they keep him engaged. They feed him and entertain him. This means I get to "play". Tomorrow is Thursday. The day is partially mapped out. I'm going to deliver medical paperwork to my doctors office. It could be mailed, but then I'd have no excuse to head in that direction to find a geocache. Once the paperwork has been delivered and a few caches found and logged, groceries are on the agenda. Most people would not consider shopping for groceries to be play, but when I can shop without any "assistant" helping to fill (or empty) my shopping cart, it starts to feel like play. If everything goes smoothly, my husband and I will enjoy a quiet lunch....just the two of us. Then I should still have a few hours before the bus brings my father back to my door. I love Thursdays.

So gladthey have those programs and give you some free time. I have to work130 pm - 530pm, then I will most likely come home to MyLot and Swagbucks.I am trying to save money, and catch up on things.

The day program is a blessing. In 25 days he moves to a retirement residence. Hopefully he will be happier. I will have an empty nest again.

@Morleyhunt Is it a retirement home or a nursing home?. I remember working in a retirenment home and they seemed happier but didn't have the space. I like when they have their own apartments and then help comes in.

@ricki_911 it is a retirement home. He does not qualify for long term care, so he has signed the lease to move into this facility and we are trying to get CCAC and March of Dimes to move and increase his services. I can be expected to drive an hour in the morning (back and forth) to put his socks on and another hour in the evening to take them off.

I hate to go grocery shopping with my husband. We end up buying much more than we should, it's not a pleasure.

@Morleyhunt Oh my goodness, also this sounds like a nightmare. I wonder why men are sometimes so childish.

Grocery shopping with my father is worse than shopping with a toddler....I put things in my cart (we need the item) and he takes it out.....it's not on sale. Funny, but oh so frustrating.

Don't forget to take deep breaths while out and about, it'll help clear the cobwebs which we both know will clog that ole gray matter by Wednesday. Have a ton of fun

It's been more than a year of stress. When I have a 'free' day I better take advantage. Today was picture perfect.

I can imagine how much you would forward to Thursdays. I sometimes really enjoy shopping on my own too.

I usually have a million (it seems like that many) things I need to do. This week my calendar was empty...time to play. You'll read all about it tomorrow afternoon.

It will be a good day. A taste of what I will be able to do when he moves out in November.
