Yep.
That's what I am seeing and reading...even here.
Seems that most people from there see nothing wrong with the killing of drug dealers/users.
Doesn't matter that they are not getting a trial.
Doesn't matter that the person may actually walk away from it and become someone else.
Nope.
Just kill 'em.
Kill 'em all.
Don't even bother to stop and think that you could be killing someone just like me.
Just like America's famed 'War on Drugs', the policy I see is not going to stop drugs.
The only way to stop drugs is to stop people from wanting drugs.
Sure...you killed Enrico...HE isn't going to want any more drugs...but his friends still do.
And they will find them.
Killing is not the answer.
But I guess you won't understand that...
(Sorry, but some things piss me off)

I dared to comment that this is wrong, that this is not democracy and that this kind of "abuse" is called DICTATORSHIP, but I have been kindly requested not to criticize because this is the only way to clean their country. Well, it seems that history serves no purpose.

Because that's what the local media wants, since the people have Lost their trust on the local media, they now turn into getting the international community involved. getting you all pissed at the government.

@AkoPinay well, it's their country and their right to speech, but we know when we make our stand and tell if the government is actually doing the right thing.

But they could be, if they are not executed without ever having a chance to prove it

Someone said dealers are killing the potential informers, and that from law side too, only crooked policemen are involved...

@vandana7 Well... I got to know how fiercely this is being supported, around the same time you posted about it and praised Duterte.

It started it even before the Duterte sworn into office. Cleaning up their tracks.

To me it is no different from abortion or euthanasia. Only the Giver of life has the right to take back the breath of life. Killing them is taking the easy way out, it doesn't deal with the roots. To unearth the root cause many times can be very tedious and many tend to avoid it.

That sounds a bit harsh, murder is murder isn't it? I guess I missed the post that made you write this... In the 60's I was known as a "I'll give it a chance try..." Nothing stuck and I'm glad, I stopped about the same time I started - I didn't handle it well... I had lots of friends who did, and loved them...

We see killers get off with a mere slap on the wrist.....we see others who seem to reap punishment on top of punishment for the most minor crime.

For many things, killing is not the answer. However it seems to some to be the fastest solution. The value of a changed life can not be measured so it is often ignored. Your changed life has touched many of us.

@JolietJake Actually he initially wanted to round them all up and put them in jail. Then he realized that he doesn't have enough room for them all. So he did what he thought was the next best thing.

Murder might cure the addiction, but it also kills a living soul. God's the only one who can cure the addiction and save the soul at the same time.

I'm in total agreement.
This policy has no place in a civilised society.

@Mike197602 Police, from what I've read.
I'm honestly floored that anyone can support this guy's policies. It kind of reminds me of the Trump supporters here in the States...
There's nothing remotely okay about government sanctioned murder, but somehow doing it under the guise of "saving money" by not building a rehab program to help addicts makes it even worse. Do Filipinos honestly value life so little? I'd never have that impression from those who post here, but being okay with that sort of President does make one wonder...

@Letranknight2015 of course there is something that could be done...stop the killing.
I've read up a bit on the Philippines and I'd suggest a more harmful thing to your society is endemic corruption in government and other officials.

@Letranknight2015 who is actually doing this killing?
Is it police/government forces or vigilantes?

Colombia already warned us that they did this method back in the 80's and it caused more harm than good.

We have already seen that the Fillipino President compared himself with Hitler. Hence, we can expect the rule of Hitler in that country. Even he never showed respect to President Obama as he abused him mercilessly. So expect injustice in Phillipines till this person's dictatorial rule ends.
