No Morning Coffee!

My husband and I generally brew one pot of coffe each day and then reheat the coffee as need in the microwave.
This morning I emptied the pot into our coffee mugs and popped them into the microwave oven to reheat.
Three minutes later the microwave beeped that it was finished so I went into the kitchen anticipating my first coffee of the day. It was cold!
I must have mistakenly hit timer instead of cook. Let's try again.
No! Still cold!
Now it's too late to brew a fresh pot before my husband leaves for work.
I guess I'm going shopping for a microwave oven!

The next cup will be fresh brewed.....and the new microwave should be in place before I'm ready to have another cup of coffee.

The microwave wanted you to beat the black Friday crowds. Maybe hubby can get a cup somewhere on his way to work.

A Microwave is so handly to have when all fails here. I don´t use it very much but I would if I had to. I am so used to my kettle that makes a screaming screechy noise that´s all.

@lovinangelsinstead21 the kettle gets used for making tea and hot chocolate. Coffee is made with the coffee maker or reheated in the microwave.

I was home in time to enjoy a freshly brewed (thanks to my husband) coffee. Then the new microwave oven was unpacked and set up.

No. Just heading to Walmart. They will have the best selection nearby.
Found a nice one. Purchased it and have used it already.

@rebelann I have found that most of them last about ten years, depending on how much use they see. Many years ago I had a tiny little one that I wasn't using. I donated it to our local library for their staff kitchen. They still tell me how grateful they are and that it is used daily.

@Morleyhunt Oh I see.Try to buy them on sale. I guess a plain teapot would do, right?

@KristenH it was on sale. It was still a little more than I had hoped to spend, but it's also a bit larger tha my first intention. My daughter accompanied me and suggested I also make sure a dinner plate will fit.....hmmmm.....some of those microwave ovens are teeny.

Why didn't you just boil some water and made an instant coffee . Is it not possible to brew a coffee in a stove ?

@Morleyhunt That's because i think a mug is equivalent to 2 glasses in terms of its volume .

I don't keep instant coffee in the house. I use a coffee maker to brew my coffee. It claims to make 10-12 cups, but our mugs....it is only 6 mugs.

I have a Keurig, so we brew one fresh cup at a time but I need a new microwave as well, mine is tired. I went to the store to price them a couple weeks ago.

A Keurig wouldn't be practical or economical for us. We simply go through too much coffee.

@Morleyhunt I like it because I drink mine black and it must be fresh!! Economical maybe not but every cup is perfect.

@Morleyhunt I use so little my microwave that I am sure I am not going to replace it the day it will die.

That was what I ultimately did. The microwave gets a fair amount of use. It's been replaced.

@JudyEv if I am making baked potatoes on the barbecue I will often give them a head start with a few minutes in the microwave to shorten the cooking time.

@Morleyhunt Yes, all those and there a couple of recipes I do in there - well, one I can think of!
They're supposed to be good for scrambled eggs too but I haven't tried that.
