I don't like "floor sample" items, but luckily this one is an exception! Christmas orders are slowly arriving in the mail..

If I am paying the price for a "new" item - I sure want the item to be new as possible, or close to it and unused/unworn. How do you feel about floor sample items? Some people don't mind, but I surely do! 
I have a handful of Christmas orders slowly mailing home and today I received one of the gifts I bought my boyfriend, these Nike Flex Run 2016 Sneakers.
Right when, I opened up the box - I saw the "Floor Sample" sticker and went darn! I immediately checked the soles and was relieved, they were still brand new and never worn! Of course, these sneakers didn't make it under the tree (which we don't even have up yet) because my boyfriend brought the mail in and asked me what's inside. 
He already tried them on and said they're comfortable and comparable to all his Nike Free Runs!

I bot a "floor model" HD TV at walmart about five years ago and it is still running fine.

By floor sample items do you mean something used as a demonstrator?
Like with a washing machine you can see lots of different models in a shop, are they floor sample items?
If they are then I'll always try and buy them if possible.
They're brand new, never been used and have just sat in the shop...same warranty but they normally have a few scratches and things.
Best deal I got was probably 8 years ago or so when I wanted a really nice tv.
Retail was just under £5000 but I got a demonstrator with a few nicks and scuffs (on the back) for slightly over £3000 so I was happy.

Yes, they're the sample on the floor as the demo.
In some instances, like at Macy's Furniture the mattresses all come with a 10 year warranty BUT if you buy a floor sample, the warranty is voided & you don't save AS much, so we purchased a new one =)
It all depends on the product! But you can score a good deal too !! But in this case, I did score a good deal but I was shopping online.
You surely most love your TV! At my boyfriends we don't have any. We use the iMac as our TV lol =)

Even better, getting a free one from your sister. Samsung is a good brand too! My parents have Samsung & LG as their tv's..
Hahah, yeah .. if warranty was voided ~ I wouldn't either. The demo mattresses have been tried a lot =P

Now I've got a samsung tv that my sis got free from her hotel when they replaced them...it works perfectly
I wouldn't buy a demonstrator if the warranty was voided and I wouldn't buy a demo mattress as loads of people would have been on it...but I suppose that's stupid as I've slept in a lot of hotels

@infatuatedbby in buying floor samples , we should check carefully the item.
We rarely do that.
It is still best to buy brand new items.

This really depends, as if the item is just on display and nobody used it, then I might buy it. Did you get a discount for buying the floor sample, as that makes a difference for me. One of my Christmas Trees is a floor model and I know people can't tell which one is the discounted tree. I used my points for the tree and paid nothing for the decorated tree. Yes, the tree had more decorations, then I wanted, so just took them off.

@infatuatedbby Lucky for me my brother was living in the area at the time and has a truck, so we each ended up with a free tree. His was a larger tree and I wouldn't have been able to get it in my house. It was quite a sight going down the road with two trees decorated. We both still tell people about the trees and he ended up donating his tree when he moved out of state. He was in the military and couldn't take the tree.

You scored well since the tree was decorated =) Did they disassemble the tree or you had a truck or van to stuff the tree in to bring it home?
I ordered the sneakers online so I didn't have a choice but I did score an incredible deal!

Your boyfriend is a pip! My hubby opens packages for me and stands around watching me take out the contents. MEN!
I only bought one floor sample in my life. It was a Versace bag in Italy. It was the only one left and was on display in the window. I made them give me a huge discount in addition to getting VAT back at the airport. I saved almost $4200 on that floor model!
