Well, I tried to stop Christmas, but looks like Santa has been here and delivered the morning paper.

I wonder why facebook didn't notify me it was your birthday? Ain't we friends?

I think that the only way you are going to stop Christmas is to get yourself a sleigh and some flying reindeer and set off in an westerly direction so that you actually unwind the calendar. Of course, you mustn't stop for a moment or Christmas will catch up with you!
Mephistopheles (in all of his 9 month wisdom) says to tell Scar that if you sleep for the 70% of the day that cats generally do, you will reduce the amount of Christmas stupidity by 150% (on the grounds that you will sleep through all of the stupidity and more). I have to say that, being a cat, he can only CalculATe with the help of something he calls 'alcule', which sounds a lot like strong liquor to me!

I was a bit surprised to see the paper on the doorstep, and then I started wondering...if it was here by 2:30 AM, and it came from a few hours away, then it must have actually been printed yesterday, which makes it an oldspaper and not a newspaper.

Part of the reason I decided against a tree was it would be bare unless I made a bunch of 'fake' presents for it.
