PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend begins February 17

PetSmart stores will host a National Adoption event this weekend in many areas.
The picture shared here was taken by me at a store where one event will be held.
If this is the perfect time for you to add a dog or cat to your household, PetSmart will be hosting this event from February 17-19 in certain areas.
Some PetSmart stores will have dogs only available for adoption. Check your area to be sure if there is an event near you.
Are you ready for another pet?

@jstory07 There are just so many cats and dogs available, it is terrible.

Right now it's the cats that're expensive @PatZAnthony I wish I could have allowed moms cats to remain in her back yard but no one was there to care for them.

@rebelann That is really sad, isn't it? We have several neighborhood cats and a woman here tends to all of the vet needs.
Food is relatively inexpensive for the neighbors to handle here.

They can get to be expensive. Don't even want to think about how much it is costing us.

I couldn't afford to feed a pet and my tenancy agreement states that no pets are allowed anyhow - I miss having cats around as always had them or dogs at my mum's @PatZAnthony

@PatZAnthony that is quite handy for you - a flat up a flight of stairs isn't too practical for pets that need to go outside too so unlikely i'll have pets for the forseable future

@arthurchappell We have a yard just out the first floor door, so it is a bit easier for us than some.

It is hard to be without pets once you have had them. We know we really appreciate the ones we have, but we are in a private residence, so there are no restrictions.

Yes, avoid the event if you don't want another pet right now.

Great event and am sure many cats and dogs will have a new home. I'm glad Pet Smart Store has this kind of awareness to help people find a new friend. I have a lot of Koi Fish, so no new kids at my house.

We are a one pet family - so no new ones here. By the time Ruby is no longer with us we will be too old to start over.

It would be good if everyone realized when it was not the right time to add a pet.

@AbbyGreenhill People have asked us how much we spend taking care of our pets. We don't share figures but have to say it is a considerable amount.

@PatZAnthony Yes, but some think more is better which is could be but you have to be able to properly take care of them.

I already have two dogs and that's enough for me. I hope Petsmart does well with their adoption

They did have a good amount of people. Our family now has two more cats, although their goal was to see more dogs adopted.

That could be an issue with many pets when it comes to sharing space.
