Why don't people 'go ape' at the first of the month instead of the last here?

It seems I always see a mad scramble at the end of the month as users try to reach the magical '$5' (or whatever their 'goal' may be). What I don't understand is why don't they become super-active at the first of the month instead? Get it all out of your system early. Don't procrastinate and wait till the last minute...do it early and get it out of the way. Then just coast through the rest of the month. After all, if you start working on it now instead of then, the odds are much better you will reach it. Just a thought...

This has always been a mystery to me. The logical approach is a constant presence, in which case no rush whatsoever. Instead the final few days are Mylot panic days.

Exactly. I'm here the same amount of time all through the month...of course, that isn't necessarily a good thing because I spend a LOT of time here.

@JolietJake So do I, but simply evenly spreading the time is all that is required to alleviate the usual panic.

Never was a truer word spoken! What is the shortes time that it has taken you to reach the minimum?

@minx267 Yeah, they did a thing in March and April of last year where they temporarily lowed cashout to $1 as a promotion (and to show people that they did indeed pay) and then set it at $5 permanently in May.

I try to remain constant through out the entire month-not just the end. February was harder to do that though since I had Josiah, finding the time was a little difficult at first but I got it figured out now. =)

Well, I think from what I see that the level of activity has gone down considerably the last few months. I don't see a big push by most of us at the end of the month. I don't need to as I'm usually 'set' way before then.

I guess they think they'll easily reach it during the month and then scramble at the end when they aren't at their goals.

@NJChicaa When they post 15 in a row it's hard to ignore. That why I wish 'block' really worked, it would knock their discussions off of the list and I wouldn't have to sort through the crap

Yes, butt isn't part of the human condition to procrastinate? Just look what happens tween 12/23 and 12/24, they all crawl outta the woodwork and end up clogging retail shops.

Oh my JJ I had seen this avatar on a comment and I was wondering if this was a new user. This is a question I also wanted to ask. Instead of starting to complain around the 25th of the month that they still need one dollar to cash out, they should start writing and interacting from day 1.

I've not participated in the mad scramble. I either make the $5 minimum or I don't. I think some Mylotters are coasting along and then suddenly realize that if they push, they might actually reach the magic number. This month, I'm here for a few days...then I'm on vacation for a week. We'll see how it plays out.

I'm here so much flappin' my jaws every day that I never need to 'push' it at the end of a month...of course, I have no life either, but that's beside the point

If a crazy level of activity was maintained all the time, then they'd read the limit faster. lol I don't go "ape" at any point of the month, which probably explains why I have yet to reach payout.

That I have to agree with. The earlier the better. I try and do that myself as much as I can. But with me it also comes down to the mood I am in. And also I use another site to write on as well. So I split my time. But that's okay. I do try and reach my goal here but I don't panic if I don't.

@JolietJake that sure is better. Just thinking if they actually just make a goal when payday is near. If that is the case, one cannot always makeup for lost time and opportunity.
