Troubled again, as oft I am, by life's vagaries and peculiarities

I've gotten used to things.
I park in a driveway, I drive on a parkway...I can deal with it, odd as it may be.
And today, I noticed the Magnolia trees are blooming...and all is well.
Until suddenly, my mind is jarred by the redbud trees...which don't, indeed, have red buds, but pink buds.
Yet the trees with red buds are not called pinkbud trees, but maples.
Go figure

The redbuds, when in full bloom, are actually not red or pink, but a light Burgundy color at least the ones in the south.

@JolietJake I was born in Italy, when I was a kid I only had Italian classes. I learnt English and French later in my life, but it's not just like your own native language.

When I was little I never understood when the one restaurant was called an "Eat&Park" and not a "Park&Eat". It didn't make sense to me. Kind of like a Roadhouse.

@JolietJake That's what I'd assume. After all, if it applies to those buildings, isn't every house next to a road one?

I always had issues with the "red bud" trees and it took quite a while to convince me that was what they really were, with their purply pinky blooms.

I had a magnolia tree in my yard when I lived in my and ex's and I's old house. There is a dogwood tree there too. Both pretty this time of year.

@JolietJake You mean you sleep? I didn't realise that. Well, that's a lie but you certainly don't seem to sleep much.

I didn't notice any yesterday, and then today BOOM!!! they were beginning to show all over town. It's too bad they don't last long.

The buds on my maple trees seem pretty red to me....that's the colour I will find all over the deck when the blossoms fall from the tree.

Nearest one to me right now out the back window is about a block away, the red doesn't show as good as it could

I'm not even sure what kind of tree is out past my balcony but it looks like the pic you posted below. The red buds blow all over and get into everything, even my hair!
