I heard the yard man muttering under his breath

I could hear him really well, because he is me (or I to be correct). He was saying bad things about the used lawnmower I bought last year. He wanted to lower the blades to cut the rapidly growing spring grass a bit shorter, but the blasted thingies (technical term) that are supposed to lower are so hard to move, it is almost impossible. He even tried WD40 on the stupid thingies. Funny thing, when I played ping pong yesterday, my friend Tom was complaining about his mower for the same reason. My yard man wants me to hire the lawn work out like most of my neighbors do. He says it would look a lot better. I agree; sometimes he does a lousy job.

That's what I like about living in an apartment, we don't need a yard man. If your yard man doesn't do the job right, I'm sure the wife lets him know about it.

I am hiring a lot of work now. Maybe 30 years ago I would have done it myself. But I´m nor 30 years younger. So it´s time to pay. I can still do some of the workthough. And I have discovered that it is VERY important to applaud when I get anything done. I need to be in a possitive mood. It is healthy.

@JamesHxstatic I´m sure that guilty feeling has to do with your upbringing I have managed to erase ammost completly guilt from my vocabulary. Instead, I applaud when I get something done.

Now we are three, because I was also trying to lower the blades but they did not move. I also tried the WD40 but with no success.

@JamesHxstatic I do not know how someone could move those things, I know that I cannot and I do not want to ask to my husband, the doctor said he should not do this kind of things.

@JamesHxstatic - Ha Ha! Sounds like a new yard man would be a good idea. The current one is not very happy about doing the work anymore!

Good yard men are really hard to find I agree. At least it seems the lawn-mower starts. We have a spray product called 'Start Ya B*stard' which I think is a great name.

I suspect the yard man gets a kick out of his mown lawn, how ever it turns out, it is his and no one elses.
