Are tighty whities out of style?

In case you don't know or unsure, tighty whities means basic white briefs for men. I still chuckle at thinking about the first time I heard that - my former husband had joined the Navy right before we met. We had three weeks of dating before he had to report.
He was too straight-laced back then to say such a phrase to me, but after we got married I had to learn what it meant! (Yes, my first husband was rather boring). Since the summer uniform was and still is white, tighty whities were a necessity. Unfortunately they were the undies of choice after he got out of the Navy.
By the time we got back to the mainland and regular lives again I was less impressed with him and his tighly whities to really care about him or them. It's been many years but I would bet the farm tighly whities are in his dresser drawer somewhere in Main.
So, how you do feel about tighty whities?

@AbbyGreenhill If they would have came out of the dryer with wrinkles he would have had to dry clean them. I owned no iron.

All of military has to have perfect uniforms. I sent my husband's white to the cleaners, I tried ironing them but I couldn't get them perfect.

@AbbyGreenhill Sometimes you can tell when they bend over or sometimes you can see the line of the boxers or boxer briefs on their legs, but sometimes I would ask.
Here is a funny story (or at least I think it is funny). I knew my first husband when I was growing up, but we hadn't seen each other in a while, because he was older and had his own life. He was separated and getting a divorce when we met again and had our first date. I don't remember how it came up in the conversation, but on our first date I found out that he wore tighty whities. I had a crush on him forever, but I told him that could be a deal-breaker, because I found guys who wore them to be too straight-laced and boring for my tastes. He assured me that the only reason he wore them was because his soon to be ex-wife bought them for him, and he didn't care enough to object, especially if that is what she liked. By our second date, though, he announced that he had made a trip to the store and bought new underwear and had thrown out the old ones!

Those tight things are not good for the health, my husband wear boxers, I suppose that my ex boyfriend (who was in the navy) had to wear them during summer, because even the Italian uniform was white. I was too young and it's something I have not seen.

@AbbyGreenhill I think it would be even difficult to buy something different now, all the stores sell boxers for men.

You don't need air-conditioning in the summer, because the airflow is so good!

I don't know why but 'tidy whities' aren't that interesting to me. I like boxers better. They even seem rather sexy to me.

My husband's wife hangs all her laundry in the basement. We were there years ago and had to go to the basement and all the lines were full of his white jocky shorts - I laughed for days!

I can still picture my X in them, as well as his dress whites. Somewhere along the way, I lost my dress whites. Oh well. He never did wear anything else. It never bothered me to call them that, though I don't think I did very often.
