What goes on in their minds

Sometimes when I see outlandish stuff posted here, or all kinds of rapid fire posts I let myself wonder what goes on in the mind of the person posting. Then I realize that often I do not even know what goes on in my own mind, so I should not worry about them. I know that some people use the "shotgun method" of throwing posts out until some of them pull up some good responses. I have seen some discussions or posts that seemed to me to be deliberately irritating, to generate interest. Then of course there are the plagiarized posts and people say "What could they be thinking?" Obviously they are thinking they are going to get away with it. So really, we do not know what goes on in their minds, unless they come right out and tell us. Like that lonely old (57 is old?) guy with a black cat. He will tell it to you straight. I suspected the person bad mouthing him and being rude was trying to generate extra responses. It was hard to believe that anyone could be that stupid and rude. Well, sleep is on my mind now. Saying goodbye to April.

I suspect I know which lonely guy with the black cat you mean. I saw his post earlier today, stating that someone wanted him to die. I think some people are just mean because they don't see people on the computer as real people, or think they can get away with it because they don't have to ever meet them. In a nutshell, some people are real jerks.

I felt the poster of that discussion about the lonely old guy with the black cat was deliberately trying to get people mad, to get more responses. I do have to agree that there are some real jerks out there.

Not only do we not know what's in someone else's mind, but we really don't know what's going on in their lives. So many people live with problems they'd rather not share, so they might post things to take their minds off their problems. My late husband used to post a lot of silliness to take him away from things that were bothering him, and some people thought he didn't have a deep thought in his head.

Mostly I try to keep it light. You guys do not want to hear my day to day aches and pains and what stuff goes on with kids who cannot follow rules or learn anything.

Before submitting the post it is checked for violence of rules and if not the submit button is pressed - does not matter what effect those posts could have on users here

Are you saying you are not worried about how posts affect others? I have never seen you resort to name calling and foul language.

When we talk without thought we call it diarrhea of the mouth.....I suppose some people just extend it to their fingers.

Some plagiarist from Indonesia described @JolietJake as an old guy. He is just 57, I do not consider that old.

Yeah as the discussion went on I think he was just enjoying getting responses. That seemed like his plan for sure. Some of us couldn't help but to say something in defense of our friend though.

I left a few comments myself, but usually as responses to another poster's comment, and not directly to him. I did not want to give him any satisfaction and I was hoping he was not earning that way as well.

Sometimes I feel like this is a school playground so naturally there are those here who think themselves soo kool that they can put someone else down ..... well, I never did figure out who that rude person was but I wager I didn't respond to the BS she was writing. There's no excuse for rudeness. Oooppps, I did find out who the bozo was but I'm not going to bother responding to his bs.

I read a few of those comments but I didn't see how many he ended up with at the finish. Maybe it paid off for him.

I think some of the rapid fire are the people who do one site after another, trying to make as much as possible. I was being TOLD what to do by this one older lady, but come to find out she just looked old and is around my age. After I told her off she came around and stopped bossing people.

She is smart enough to listen then, and mature enough as well. It could be that others are trying to do what works elsewhere in the shortest amount of time.
