I am beginning to wonder if my husband really is part Italian

My husband's father was Russian. His mother was 1/4 Irish and 1/4 Italian. I always say my husband's appetite is 100 percent Italian - he loves Italian food and would eat it three times a day if he could.
Well, now he has me wondering big time if there is really any Italian in him. I bought corn-on-the-cob at the grocery store this morning. He said, what else are we having with the corn and I told him chicken. I said since it's so raw out I would cook the chicken inside.
I looked in my air fryer cookbook and found a recipe for Parmesan Chicken Fingers. I can't eat cheese, so I said I could leave the cheese off of mine. To which he replied, "Don't you use mozzarella for that?"
No - it's called Parmesan Chicken Fingers not Mozzarella Chicken Fingers!
Photo is mine.

I dislike Italian food. My favorites are Mexican and Chinese.

@AbbyGreenhill If that's the case, then I can understand why he made the suggestion. But it's Parmesan chicken, not Mozarella chicken.

He uses that cheese a lot- on pizza, etc.

@AbbyGreenhill So chicken parm has mozzarella on top? I did not know.

@LadyDuck Yes...and he loves that- but it is messy to make - you have to fry the chicken. Anyway, I don't think he really 'heard' what said since he never does!

I don't know enough about northern or southern Italy - I a not Italian and cheese is my enemy!! I think he 'assumed' I was going to make chicken parm for him, which has mozz on top.

I prefer him to shut up while he eats or the food would get sprayed across the room LOL!

Lol, that recipe sounds interesting. I have wanted an air fryer, but we don't have the counter space for one right now. But I have been eyeing them.

I don't keep mine on the counter, it's put away until time to use it. I won't be w/o mine now...I love it.

What is an air fryer? It seems to me that you don´t have to have some italian blood to like italian food. Although I wouldn´t really know because I´m 1/4 italian.

An air fryer is a machine that cooks food like a convection oven does - you can air fry food using just a small amount of oil. Of course you don't have to be Italian to like Italian food - just like you don't have to be American to like apple pie.

@marguicha it is not an oven. It is a table top unit

So if Hubby is half Russian, one eighth Italian and one eighth Irish, what is the remaining quarter?!

1/2 Russian, 1/4 Italian 1/4 Irish equals 100 percent

Funny! Tony seems to call cheese by the dishes or something other than its name, stinky cheese = parmesan, Mozzarella = pizza cheese, Swiss is holey cheese. He has no idea that I use other cheese at times.
I have just about stopped eating cheese, I am headed back to vegan.

I don't eat cheese since I can't digest it - no other reason. I will always not be vegan. I find all cheese to be stinky.
