I took Thursday off to catch up on paperwork and domestic chores. One of those domestic chores was doing my laundry. In that laundry were two pairs of shorts and my "teaching pants."
Alas, I failed to check every pocket in my hiking shorts, and I left a 3/$1.00 back-up lighter in one of the deep pockets. When I went to get my laundry from the dryer, there was a massive explosion, sending the laundry room into the sky in pieces. One of the dryers landed on my head, killing me instantly.
Apparently what had happened was the gasses in the lighter had expanded, due to the heat from the dryer, causing the explosion. For some reason, I was allowed to fold my clothes before I went to...I'm not sure where I am, but I'll attach a picture if I receive any comments on this post...and that's when I took this picture.
Actually, what happened is this POS lighter works better than ever before. I think I'll put all of my cheap lighters in the dryer hereafter.

Please say hello to all my friends. I hope they're having a wonderful time in the warmth. I hope to join them one day...
The worst thing I've forgotten in a pocket is Kleenex. What a mess! And the first few times I did it brought forth the words that have earned me the ticket to the warmer climes where all the fun people go.

When I was in boot camp, one of the recruits left a bottle of lighter fluid in one of the cargo pockets of her pants when they were sent through the laundry. Fortunately someone at the laundry caught it (along with stuff that other people had left in their pockets). Boy, did the drill instructor let her have it!
(Where on earth are you finding 3/$1 lighters??)

Heh. Once, when I was flying (pre-9/11) to NY to visit my Aunt, I had several live .22 shells in my jacket pocket. The metal detector didn't catch them. It must have been right after I got back from Montana (late Summer), since I rarely go shooting here in CA.

@spiderdust What would they do if I emptied my pockets and had one .22 shell in there. Take it away? Or arrest me?

@TheHorse WHOOPS! That could have been an interesting TSA story if they had been found. Definitely wouldn't happen these days, when you can't even take in a bottle of water.

It must have been dirty and that played the trick. (lol) But do not try that again. Your luck may not be there to help you

fixing lighter is good for you, as i can see you have long beard..........igniting lighter with high flames could turn up dangerous.

I have washed and dried Tony`s lighters too. No explosion but I have an imagination like yours and thought " I could be in heaven with momma right now"
Now the only lighter used it for the grill, he stopped smoking when he found out he has lung cancer and I quit back in 2005.
