~The Pastor's Wife Messaged Me~

Some of you saw my other discussion about what happened at church tonight...and this isn't the first time it happened. Pastor's wife messaged me though and told me Julian is not a burden at all. She said she will try to get the ladies to spend more time with him so he adjusts better with them. Stranger anxiety takes time and you have to be patient to handle it. Hopefully with time Julian will get over this and like new people. I'm going to talk with my husband and let him know he shouldn't give up on our church because of this. This can get better with time and adjustments. We will see what happens with time. I love our church and I hope we can continue to go.

This happened with my nephew (cousin) and us. He was almost 2 and was mostly just around his mom and dad and his moms parents and Sister so he wouldnt come to me, my mom, my brother or my grandmother and would scream bloody hel if my uncle or the mom put him down or left without him. Kids need others around. Adults and kids. They cant just be with family

@Courtlynn Exactly the problem with us is we don't have any family around and we don't go anywhere except church where we leave him. I know with time though he will get over it once we go every week again and he gets to know them. I don't mind if he cries because I know he's fine, he's just scared with new people.

@sugartoes I said we don't go anywhere where they are left without us. Of course we take our kids places!

Glad to hear you received that message from the Pastor's wife. You're right, stranger anxiety takes time. And it could be different from one kid to another - it could take longer for some than others.

@sishy7 Thank you. Yes it does take time and I'm hoping with Julian he will get over it fast because he's not going to get attention for it from me.

@JamesHxstatic Thank you I hope so as well. I just hope he can get over this and the people in nursery will start being nicer to him.

How very right that she should let you know this. Not every baby just loves every adult instantly, and you really would not want them too. However, they need to remember who the adult is and take the time to minister to these little babies and soothe their fears.

All kids are different. You are so right. Some time and thought for the child is what's needed. Hope it goes okay for you. I know how you enjoy your church.

My older son was like that when he was 2. He would cry when I would leave him in the Church Nursery. Thank goodness he got over it rather quickly and adjusted to it.

It would be a shame to give up on your church for this one reason.

@Judyev It has happened more than this time like I stated in the post. This is not the first time we have been made to feel that Julian was not welcome there. It's happened a few times now. He's our child so of course it hits nerves when someone is mean or doesn't like him.

@Mike197602 Yeah I did. I feel better about everything so I didn't think it was needed.
