Dipping A Tentative Toe

"Who the hell are you?" I hear you all cry. And with good reason. It's been a while. I'm not one for apologizing for not being around. Sometimes life gets in the way, stuff has to be dealt with and it doesn't leave one with the time or energy, nor the requisite chirpy disposition, to contribute anything that people will want to read. Disposition reasonably chirped, comparatively speaking (if the comparison is with A.A.Milne's Eeyore), I thought I'd dip the old hallux back into the H2O and say a hearty hello to everyone with whom I have crossed paths (and swords) on this marvelous platform. I hope you all have been keeping well in my absence. It has been far too long, and I can't guarantee I'll find the necessary wherewithal to make any sort of consistent appearance but I have missed the old place. Hence my half-hearted attempt at a comeback post. I'll leave you with the news that shouty songstress Adele has declared that she may never tour again. I've never really understood why she bothered in the first place. She could just sit at home, screeching her repertoire, and we'd all hear her anyway!! "Months away and that's all he's got". I can sense the disdain! But hey, I'm sorry! When you're in the process of breaking the world hide and seek record it can be an isolating experience.

Hello, I am so glad to see you back. I understand that being in the process of breaking the world hide and seek record has been time consuming. Now relax and rest.

@LadyDuck Definitely. I can snooze as much as I like here and nobody can see me drooling down my chin.

Indeed it was tiring. It's dangerous to drop off to sleep. A stray snore can easily give you away.

Oh, howdy stranger. My first ever post here had a similar sort of footprint, titlewise - who'd'a thunk it?!
What is this? More place to fill with inane scribbles... Did you know that 'blog' is short for 'web log'? I didn't, until this evening...

@WorDazza Yeah, it's manic last-day-of-month, so people are firing stuff in to get up to payout threshold before close-of-business Kansas time at midnight tomorrow (30th) night.

@pgntwo Blimey! Where has June gone? I just didn't realise it was so late in the month. So it's not the brilliance of my post that's generated the traffic then!!!

Mediocre minds etc. I was going to go with the hallux h2o thing but figured i should keep it simpler for my comeback.

It's nice to be back. I'm amazed at how many of the old crowd are still around. It's like I've never been away! I give it 2 weeks before you're all begging me to take another break

I am not too sure about you having a chirpy disposition, but am willing to wait and see, WorDazza... (grinning at you!) Do you know how long it has been since I have heard anyone use the term "hallux" for "big toe"? I believe I was about 10 or 12 years old when my father taught me that word... I haven't heard it used since. I am very happy to see you back (whether that is for long or not) and apparently in a (somewhat) happy mood... As far as music is concerned, I don't listen to any, as a normal rule, so couldn't say whether Adele sounds good or not. (I have listened to our pony ( @TheHorse) braying on YouTube lately. He actually sounds good, believe it or not. If you would be interested in listening to any of his music videos, you should ask @vandana7 for those links.) I do hope life lets you play on myLot as much as you need to refresh your spirit while letting you enjoy teasing ours.

Glad to be back sir, and thanks for the kind words. I think I have come to the realization that this place is good for the soul. Well my soul anyway. And it is probably the times I feel least like writing and interacting on here that are the times I probably need to the most.

Great to see you back and with a reasonably chirpy disposition. We all get higher priorities from time to time. I don't even know who Adele is so that's how far I'm out of the loop.
