Musings from the first half of the year...

January started out cold, and June is winding up hot. Weird, but that is the exact same weather I've seen for the past 57 years. Will the June bugs that keep banging on my window screen at 3 A.M. be gone tomorrow? Or are they July bugs too? Looks like I'll have to cancel my membership in the dollar-a-day club...missed it by $7 this month. Oh well...didn't really need the BMW anyway. What's with the 28-day thing in February? Why not take a day from January and a day from March and move them to February? Almost every time Friday the 13th happens in February we get one in March as well the way things are set up right now. April showers bring May flowers? That needs changed too. It should be 'April showers may bring flowers' because this year they didn't. My flowers have done terrible the past few years. Still no bears at the squirrel tree. It's official...I need to buy more shelves, I've run out of storage space for my vinyl. Slightly over 20 hours left in the first half of the year (as of this posting)...I'm not sure if I accomplished all my goals because I don't think I set any. Special mention to whomever it was that figured out coughee. *raises cup* SALUTE!!!

If you're tired of predictable weather then come and live in the good old UK. During June we have had a brief spell of temperatures reaching 90 followed by more prolonged spells of rain and temperatures in the high fifties. As for the dollar a day club, my lack of activity during June has resulted in me struggling to meet the requirements for membership of the dollar a month club

I also missed by 7 this month, the curse of the month of June I suppose. June was hot until last Sunday, today is definitely cold, July will be hot, as it has always been since I was born.

My only goal is to wake up, take a breath, and place my feet firmly on the floor every morning. I accomplished that. The morning cup of ambition helps me to get started on the journey of making it through the day. Have a good one JJ.

Good morning. You have a ton of albums there, hope that you find another case for them.

I'm gonna have to make a few entries for Discogs, I have a few radio programs on vinyl that aren't listed there

That 7 bucks could have bought some more 45s.

Your musings sound a lot like mine. Just idle facts that probably mean nothing to anyone but ourselves. That's why I never succeeded in keeping a journal. After the first couple of days I realized my life was uneventful.

Oh man, yah half the year has flown by. Ugh - even though I didn't set any official goals, I know I haven't gotten to many of my intended plans - haven't even started . At least vinyls always look nice and neat no matter what . . . they're all pretty much in uniform size and skinny flat!

The behaviour of plants varies from year to year. The first half of the year we have had a lot of rains ,my jasmines had fewer flowers than last year and bloomed half a month late.

I would say less than one-fourth of my plants bloomed this year.

The days stolen from February were purloined, so legend goes, by Julius and August Caesar in order to make July and August longer, thus shortening winter and prolonging summer. I'm lucky to have made the 16 and two-thirds cents a day club this month.

Ever thought of selling some albums instead of buying more shelves?

Why would I want to sell some? Then I'd just have to buy them again and it would probably cost more than I sold them for.

I need more storage space for my cookbooks. I've stopped buying them for now because I have nowhere to put them.

Should I start checking my vinyls? I have a lot upstairs inside a closet. Half of the are music form the late 50s and early 60s (except by the first long play album by The Beatles that my eldest grandson stole). The rest is classical music. The problem is that I don´t go upstairs too much. My knees hurt. But now that I decided I wasn´t going to die just yet, I should go and check my knees. And then see about the vinyls.

Coffee is the only constant it seems. I hope you can get more shelving..I know that is a necessity. Meanwhile my goal is to minimize belongings and not leave any loose ends for those I leave behind.

Your vinyl looks very neat and organized but I can see why you need some more shelves. I can't believe we're halfway through his year already.
