Don't even think of trying to tell me what to do

Don't you just love it when everyone knows what you should do, how you should act, what you should eat, where you should shop, etc.
I remember years ago at Bubblews, before they started messing people over, I was making good money. Several members told me that since I didn't need the money I should leave the site...that I was taking money away from people who needed it. What? Sure, like I listened to them.
Someone on Facebook is always telling me (and others) that I don't eat right. Heck, I'm pushing 70 and in good condition and I'll eat meat and drink my soda until the day I die. That is my choice.
I don't drink, so I will never get behind the wheel drunk. I don't use a cell phone so I'll never text/talk while driving. I don't brush my teeth or put on eye make-up while driving, nor read the newspaper - heck, I don't even drive..it's the rest of the world doing those things!
So stop telling me what to do, look in the mirror - and worry abut the person you see there, I'm fine as I am. So don't even think about it!

@chrissbergstrom It would be better if this happens to every person in the world.

Unless it's helpful advice, I don't like being told what to do or not to do either.

Advice is just that, it can be thought about and taken or not.

The only thing I'd tell you "what to do" is music recommendations...and then they are just that, recommendations.

Well said! If there is something I hate is to hear people telling me what I have to do. I do not even care about "helpful advice", I am 66, I have no health problems, I feel well, I still can do most of the things I did when I was 40. This means I did not do everything wrong during my life.3 people like this

The wrong I did was smoking, but that's behind me 17 years although COPD and asthma have replaced it. It's not super bad and I know my limits.

@CoralLevang I quit a lot younger than 62 but I have COPD and asthma - my own fault, I wanted to smoke like my friends did!

It's always easier to point the finger at others and call out their faults, than it is to point the finger at ourselves and call out our own faults. It's just human nature. So good thing you don't listen to them! Keep living your life how you want it; we only get one shot at life, and so we might as well enjoy the ride as much as we can!

@moffittjc, My saying exactly: if we don't live our own life the way we want, what's the point then?

@AbbyGreenhill Of course we have no idea when the end will come, but I am going on the basis that I will live to be a 100, so I am only a few years away from living half my life. Gotta think positive! haha

Why should you leave a site you enjoy and how is it taking away from people who need the money? Surely, if you're making good contributions, that helps everyone. Also, that would be like telling someone with a lot of money that they don't need their job and should let a poor person have it. Apart from that, Bubblews was hardly a site on which to make a living.
Anyway, advice is one thing but people telling you what to do, that's different. My other half tells me what to do because I tell him to! He's much more sensible and disciplined than I am, and I respect him. Random people telling me something, or, I find, the worst is sometimes people giving unsolicited advice that you should do things that you've already done, are common sense, or you would have done if you could have done.
After 3 years of Slimming World and losing 6 stone in the first half of that, I still get people suggesting things I should or shouldn't eat. Well, after keeping it off, I'm pretty sure I've got this and don't need your sugar-filled protein shake or broccoli smoothies!

@AbbyGreenhill I obviously didn't work very hard at Bubblews then, I must have barely made $50 in all the time I was there! Not that I ever saw a penny if that but that's another story.
6 stone is 82lb I think. I also love broccoli. It's always been my favourite vegetable since (I believe) I asked for spinach because I wanted to be like Popeye and my mother (or her mother, I'm not sure) had the wise notion to tell me that broccoli was spinach because she thought I wouldn't like spinach. It turns out I didn't like spinach, although Indo now. I'd still rather eat my vegetables than drink them, though.

Actually in it's hayday Bubbs was a a place you could earn decent money. I was cashing out daily when it was $25 and almost did it daily when they upped it to $50. But I worked for that money, many hours!
I am not sure what 6 stone is, but it must be a lot??? I like broccoli - steamed with lots of butter, but not as a drink - ugh!

If more people would worry about themselves and not care what others do that isn't harming anything, we would all get along much better and be happier. Too many people want to control and watch others fail because they are miserable within their own life.

You really shouldn't be telling me not to tell you what to do, as I know everything, and I know what's best for you and everybody else. If only the world would just listen to me everything would be fine, everyone would live to be over 100, there would be no wars or arguments. Argggh.
Yes, I'm just kidding around. But don't we all know people like that? And, in truth, aren't most of us a little bit like that once in a while?

Same here. People keep telling me I should walk and exercise and eat better. BS!! I did that all my life(well, off and on at least) but now I eat what I want when I want. The doctor is never happy with me but, hey, it is my life. I am one that won't tell others what to do. I may give them info that I have derived in my life. They can take the advice or not.

People are always telling me what to do, that I should sell out my business, that I should cut my hair or not dye it. I often get told I should not keep the money I make and give it to people who need it, since I am supposed to be rich, If I were rich I would not work!
I stopped giving advice because no one listens anyhow.
I don`t smoke or drink, I hate the cell phone too.
Brush your teeth and drive?
I am over 50 years old and I hear what people say but I live like I want to live.

Guess the vegan people would have a hard time try convincing you. (I got lectured many times now, they made me feel so guilty for dare eating meat cruelly, but I swear, I hardly eat meat...).
