I have been trying to catch up with some posts from today, after I spent almost an hour responding to notifications.
And what is the first thing I notice? A couple newbies posting one right after another, discussions with no real purpose or meaning.
Bleh.
Wait let me double bleh that.
I wish there was a hide post option sometimes.

They get offended if anyone tries to show them the rules. And then if we try to explain that they aren't going to get rich here, they say they can do it, and tell us we aren;t trying hard enough.

Lol, there was one that was here while you were away that all he posted was pictures of women, swearing he was hanging out with them.. it was bad, and hilarious that he thought we would all believe him.

This happens quite often and they always turn out to be the ones that never reply and after a few days, they just go away. I normally just avoid the new user tab altogether. If they are new and their discussions are any good they will show up in the other tabs quickly and then I respond.

I stick to the Most Recent Tabs, and some times go to the most recent activity tab. When the internet cooperates I do my notifications.
I don't really take advantage of the new use tab or the other oens either lol.
