It just burns my butt. K, many of you know I shop online and usually I do not have problems. Most of the time I stick to buying non perishable food items from sites like Walmart, Target, Vitacost and Kmart and any time I had a problem with a delivery they have all been extra obliging and would reissue any damaged items with little or no hassle. A few times I have ordered things like Tshirts or Pants and in a couple instances I have had to make returns which wasn't too overly complicated although we do have some stores here in EP that simply don't hire people with any kind of expertise in the field of returns but eventually all went well. This time I saw a few items on the Blair site that looked really comfy so I ordered 3 pairs of capris and a pair of trousers. They've all arrived and I thought that would be that. Yeah, right, as if I'd be that lucky. I wear a size 20 and usually I don't have a problem with that size whether it's misses, womens or petite, 20 is 20, right? So I tried on 1 of the capris, they happened to be the misses size 20 and lo n behold the damn things are too tight ...... for cryin out loud, fat is fat, right? Same for the petites. I can understand if petite is too short, but my legs are short so sometimes I buy petite but 20 is still 20, right? Now for the clincher, they will reimburse me except for $9.99 which they will not refund. WHATTT?!?!?! It's not my fault they can't be more descriptive with their products and simply explain that if you're a misses then your not as fat as a womens plus size. WHATT?? 20 is 20, what the hell is wrong with these people?? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ok, I'm done ranting, sorry this was such a long post but I had to vent. The photo above is of my first kitty Prissy when she was 16 yrs old, it was taken in 1989 a few months before she passed. She was the sweetest kitty I've ever owned.

Yes, it is sad but at least she lived 16 years with me, for that I am happy.

I'm sorry to hear that but I do not think all sizes are the exact size. They should have a sizing chart though so you can know the specs of the pants you're ordering. I love shopping - in stores physically or online, but I'm not always the same size for bottoms, or even tops! Even the same brand, it depends on the style or cut. Not to mention the material also, some have budge and stretch while others don't. So when purchasing online we are taking a gamble. Is the $9.99 the shipping cost they don't want to honor?

Yes, it seems a little outrageous to me. I'll never shop Blair again and will make sure the credit card company is aware of my displeasure. $10 buck seems steep for S&H, I've seen some sites charge up to $5.99 but this isn't a heavy item so why the $9.99?

@rebelann Yeah - $9.99 is steep. I only shop online when they offer free shipping. I do not believe in paying free shipping, or I will spend the minimum requirement for free shipping and if I don't like anything I can return in stores. And, I see you responded below saying you purchased on free shipping day - if so, I don't think you should be responsible for paying the shipping back for a refund. Did you read their website policy, did you find anything?

Uh oh @infatuatedbby I didn't read their policy. Dang, I won't be buying from them again and the funny thing is I've never had a lot of issues if I had to make returns and I've never been charged S&H. I'll be reading their policy thanks for the tip.

Why do they not refund $9.99? Is this for Shipping&Handling? This is more than annoying, I have noticed that many times sizes are not the same from one brand to another, which is ridiculous.

Yes, they want to charge me $9.99 for shipping and handling which is way too high. The worst part is that within the same brand size 20, according to the sales rep on the phone, is smaller if it is petite or misses but larger if it is womens size, I always thought size 20 is 20, or am I mistaken?

I've only recently started to shop online and have only bought a few things, and I've been pleased at the speed with which things arrive. Was the $9.99 for postage?

Yes, it was for shipping and handling which is really outrageous. I don't usually have problems when shopping online but I'm learning that it all depends on the company, I didn't read the all their site information before buying, that was my mistake. I'm going to put this in my lessons learned column and never buy from them again. I don't usually have issues with returns, sometimes I have to get somewhat mean with staff if I have a return to make in a store but as far as online returns I have not had this kind of problem before. The other thing that really gets me is that I am a size 20, that's big then when I asked Blair told me that the size 20 for petite and misses runs smaller than size 20 in women's, I've never had that kind of issue with other sites. Oh, the size differences was within the same brand. I don't know what those people are thinking.

I thought so too @jaboUK I was ripped off and they haven't the common decency to apologize and take back the garments without charging me.

I think the last clothing items I ordered were mail order items (before the internet!) from the JPeterman catalog. They fit beautifully! From trying on clothes in the brick-and-mortar shops I can testify sizes are definitely not the same from brand to brand. Oh wait, I remember ordering socks online a few years back. They fit just fine. I have ordered celery flakes from Amazon and they're more like celery chunks. I use them anyway even though they're a bit chewy in my tuna salad.

I've never heard of JPeterman before, I'll have to check them out. I started really gaining weight when I turned 65 and I'm still getting used to the fact that my size is almost always out of stock .... seems there's an abundant amount of hefty size 20s in these parts.

@rebelann They're a bit spendy but the clothes last and last. I still have the cotton sweater I ordered back in the early 90s. I "outgrew" the pants I ordered around the same time from them.

That's awful. I would call the company directly and ask to speak to a supervisor. If they want to keep you as a customer, they should refund all your money. Prissy was a beautiful girl.

Thank you, she was 16 in this shot. She was the sweetest kitty I've ever owned .... er, that ever owned me. I plan to do just that, this morning I need to get groceries but when I get home they better watch out, I know how to sound just like a lawyer, I never yell, am very polite and usually it makes customer service people more amenable to helping me get my way.

What is the $9.99 that they keep for? Is it for shipping? Sounds pretty frustrating and definitely something worth ranting for... Poor sweet Prissy had to pose here - I thought it was her who's really ticked off at first...

yeah, she wasn't happy the day I took this, she was already 16 years old and not feeling all that well, I lost her a few months after I took this in 1989. Yeah, the $9.99 was for shipping and handling which is steep. I will never buy from Blair again.

Yeah that is why I do not, will not buy from anywhere but Walmart for clothes and sold and shipped by Walmart as it is so easy to return in store when I purchase online or even online they will come get it FREE. Sorry that happened to you Rebel. Those other companies are for the birds to deal with. RIP Prissy

That is one of the issues with online clothes buying. I do order from QVC since I rarely have sizing issues and Vera Wang from Kohls. But keeping $10 is really bad!!

I usually buy from Kmart or Walmart if it's simple cotton clothes, usually just Tshirts or Capris but the fool inside me wanted pretty pants I could wear out and about and finding my size around here is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. They'll be hearing from me that's a fact. Maybe if I'm really nice to customer service they won't keep my $10.

Sad to say but many stores won't refund the shipping when you're making a return. I've had to eat the shipping when returning items and I agree with you...IT'S NOT FAIR!!

OH dear not a good day and poor customer service. One size by one shop is good whereas the cut from another store will make you feel like you should be a super model! GRRR I feel you pain and anger!

I agree. It wasn't even about different makers, it was about different types within one make, the size I needed was a 20 petite in pants because of my shorter legs but they told me the 20 petite was smaller than the 20 women's. They even told me that 20 misses is smaller than 20 woman's, I just don't get why there's such a big difference in the same size.

Oh wow, how come I never had that problem before? When I was still a size 18 I never had issues, then when I got to 20 I'd simply shop the plus sizes at Walmart or Kmart without issue. I shoulda known when Blair didn't show plus sizes that I should notta bought anything.

Gorgeous photo and gorgeous cat! I bet you really miss her! As for pants....it's a problem buying them online. For that exact reason, I usually bite the bullet and order from QVC and pay more money. They describe their clothes very well and even give dimensions of everything, from petite to tall to slim and "fluffy". And I've never had a problem.

Thank you and yes, I still miss her. Does QVC also have the difference within the same brand of a size being smaller if you get it in petite or misses rather than woman's?

@rebelann It depends on the designer and the item, but most of their clothes are available in petite or tall, regular sizes and plus. It's one reason I like buying from them so much.
