Family Time This Week!

Our oldest daughter, her husband, and their son will be arriving tomorrow to spend the week with us. They live in a small town outside New York City and come here to Southern California once a year for their vacation. We also go back East and visit them once a year.
The next week will be busy with family dinners, relaxation in Laguna Beach, and lots of fun. Of course, since we live just 30 minutes from Disneyland, they will also be spending a few days there. My husband and I no longer go with the kids to Disneyland. We have gone many, many times over the past 50+ years and now we find it exhausting to stand in line for an hour to go on a 10 minute ride! We leave that to the younger generations.
With so much activity, however, I won't be on my computer much for the next week.
I hope everyone here has been enjoying the summer, wherever you live. Summer will be over before we know it.

@LadyDuck - I agree! It now costs over $100 a day for admission, plus the cost of food, and you spend most of the day standing in line in the hot sun. It's exhausting and my husband and I are happy to let our grown children take their children to amusement parks. I don't think Disneyland was nearly as bad 30 years ago. The traffic, parking, and everything else has become quite a hassle. We stay home and relax on the days they go to Disneyland!

@LadyDuck - I feel the same way. Disneyland has become too crowded to be fun for anyone but very young children who are still amazed by the characters.

@dgobucks226 We went as a family when my kids were small and I think a couple hundred of dollars were plenty back then for passes, food, and souvenirs... Now that amount won't even cover the passes except maybe for a couple of adults...

Everything goes up! I agree, prices at those amusement parks just like rides and attractions continue to rise. And someone has to pay for all those improvements

@jstory07 - Thank you! I think between Disneyland and the beach, they will have lots of fun! We don't have to do anything to come up with creative things for them to do.

You will have a full and joyful week.You surely can't wait to see them, especially your grandson.Your daughter live far away from you,crossing America coast to coast.Will they come by plane?

@JamesHxstatic - Thank you so much. Family time is so precious, especially once our kids are grown-up. They are at Disneyland at the moment, so I am getting a break. However, we have enjoyed the visit.
