Touch wood - all good on the health front

I’ve tried hard to lose a bit of weight over the last few years – just trying to eat a bit less and a bit better. I wondered how I’d go in France with the beautiful food that is so readily available. I’ve been eating more bread than usual not to mention the odd scrumptious thing that I’ve been unable to resist.
We also had to bring a heap load of Vince’s tablets – enough for four months. He also bought his test kit so he could keep an eye on his sugar levels as he has Type 2 diabetes. Since we’ve been here, he’s been having jam (jelly) on his baguette every morning, mainly because we haven’t been able to buy any Vegemite.
I’m pleased to be able to report that the news is good on both fronts. Before I did my zipline ride I had to be weighed and I’ve put on maybe a pound or two so that’s really good news. And after a bit of nagging (okay, quite a lot of nagging) Vince finally tested his sugar and it’s as good as it’s ever been. Must be the extra walking we’ve been doing.

@JudyEv When we were in Catalina recently, we saw people on the ziplines there, we can only imagine being on it (we are waiting for little son to get bigger) . . . but you did it
. A lot of walking is a good thing . . . but when on vacation, I just tend to eat more or more of the foods I normally don't eat

i got goosebumps looking at your picture but i love it!
did you not pack any vegemite at all or you've used it all up?
either way, all the walking and hiking did seem to help so that's great.

You are a far braver person than me!!!! I would be far more willing to watch a zip line than to ride on one.

Nice picture you got there...Yes I think the walking helped you boost up your body resistance and loose down your sugar intake level..Glad to know you had a healthy and happy vacation

Good to know that all is well.
How high was the zipline and how long was the ride?

You look great up there. Yup, I believe that you got that because of your diet. Looks fun to take an adventure.

You look fit and healthy! Walking is really nice. My husband who is also diabetic walks about four kilometers in the afernoon everyday, while I walk more than a kilometer every morning followed by a 15 minutes bike ride.

The French have the best bread in the world and so difficult to resist the lure of their bakeries in the morning.

That's great news that you both have been able to maintain your weight and health throughout your adventures. I am so jealous of you doing that zip-line. That's on my bucket list but it's doubtful that I'll ever do it. You look great!

@JudyEv The jam is probably not good but if it's his only vice it's probably OK.
