Which is easier for you to believe, evolution or religion?

On one hand, you have this Big Bang that started everything out, and after a long long time we ended up with what we have today. Of course, there is no explanation for where the things that caused the Big Bang came from in the first place...it just was there. On the other hand, you have this God that started everything out, and after a long long time we ended up with what we have today. Of course, there is no explanation for where God came from in the first place...He just was there. But it all had to start somewhere, didn't it? There has to be a Beginning. I'm not really sure most days which I most strongly believe in...but either one is pretty damn miraculous if you think about it...

I really do not think about where God started..I just believe in him by faith..I just know that God is there watching all of us..

@JolietJake ..Correct..and as you can see..anything is possible as long as you trully believe in it

@JolietJake Well, those two aren't contradictory. God could have been looking out over a vast expanse of nothing and said, "Man, this is boring. Think I'll create a Universe. Let's start with some infinitely dense mass. Now what? Eh, let's blow it up and see what happens!"

And many people have faith that the Big Bang started it all...

I believe in god for the same reason as you..there has to be a creator somewhere...as to scientific explanation that is right too because we are only looking at some phase of creation. Not in its entirety. I doubt if we can imagine what creation is, matter, anti-matter, just anything in its entirety. We cannot while we are inside the universe. But science is only part of that creation and that part we understand. I don't think there is any conflict about god being there and evolution being there. Conflict is when one religion tries to say only their god is or gods are true gods and when some people think science has already given all explanations already...only tip of the iceberg my friend..there is lot to creation that science has explained to us and lot yet to explain. I feel like saying.

"there has to be a creator somewhere" But then who created the creator?

@JolietJake .. My ability to think is limited. As I said, as long as I am within the creation (universe) that question would not be possible for me to answer. :)

I find evolution much easier to accept because we have plenty of evidence, but I also find the Big Bang theory to be ridiculous.

I am more for the evolution theory, even if the Big Bang sounds as incredible as the fact that from two humans ONLY who had a total from 14 and 140 sons and daughters we are now more than 7 Billion people in the world... I suppose it was not a sin to have children with your siblings.

Even with evolution it would boil down to the first two humans that compatibly evolved.

I try to bow down to Jesus Christ every day through my actions. Or is it the Ten Commanments that Moses brought down that I'm bowing down to? I'm not sure.

@spaceseed See, this is where I start getting a bit miffed. I know many Christians who are into science. Heck, there are Christian Scientists in the world! In Romans 1:20 we're told about atoms. In Ecclesiastes 1:6-7 we're told about air currents. In Job 26:7 we learn that the "earth hangs on nothing"--aka it's in space! God created science...believing in Him and acknowledging science are not at odds.

IMO believing in the Big Bang Theory is as crazy as believing in the tooth fairy or Santa Claus. the order and design of the earth and it's surrounding planets scream of a powerful all knowing designer

I can believe in all and it is not difficult for me to do so, both that God exists and that there was a beginning somewhere scientifically. It is fascinating to think of and theorize. There are many options to choose from, but I like to think that a combination can exist.

Teemen , I think that is the spelling, is where God came from, its in the last book of the old testament of the Bible. I believe in God and his son Jesus, for me to believe in nothing would make my life feel like nothing without purpose.

The only thing that I find hard to comprehend is that there was no 'beginning'. "God" just always was and is and will be. Once you have fully understood and accepted that, however, the rest is easy..

@JolietJake I understand how some feel that way. But I've seen too many lives transformed by faith in Jesus Christ (mine, included) that could have never changed like that on their own. The proof is in the pudding, so to speak.

Yeah, I have the same issues with the Big Bang Theory. Ultimately, I think that SOMETHING has always been here and always will. I'm religious, but I'm also willing to accept that religion might have been invented my man to provide us with a sense of meaning.
