# 81 I had an interesting dinner last night and would like to share it with myLot community... It’s some kind of rice pilaf using spices from a package called Pulou Biryani. Basmati or long/slender-grained aromatic rice was used. Meat and even sultanas were added to the mix besides the packaged spices... Paired with the rice was some barbecued lamb rack or ribs. We even had some flat bread and sliced cucumbers. This plate was simply delicious…

If I'm not mistaken it's a product of India... I can't recall the brand name right now...

@sishy7 There is a store 5 km from here that sells Indian products, I am going to check. If they do not have it, I will check the next time I go to see my Mom in Milan (Italy).

@sishy7 some left over birthday cake (yummy but lethal with the thick creams there, not ours, the cousin's - she was on a diet!), ice creams, etc. (I had some toasts. )

It looks delicious. The only difference between Pulao or Pilaf and Biriyani is the method of preparation. Rice. vegetables or meat and spices are cooked together in Pulao whereas while making Biriyani, Rice is coked separately and meat is made into a thick spicy gravy after which they are layered without mixing , and put in the oven for a few minutes for the flavors to blend.
