Western Costumes for Halloween

My husband and I rarely dress up for Halloween. However, when some friends invited us to join them at a Halloween party in our community, we decided we would make it easy on ourselves and use things we already had. After living for 25 years in Dallas, TX, my husband pulled together his "Texas Tux," which is basically a tuxedo with a bolo tie, jeans, boots and a belt with a big silver buckle. Of course, a cowboy hat topped it all off. I just went in basic Western attire ... jeans and a plaid flannel shirt. Naturally, I pulled out my old cowboy hat, too. I told my husband he looked like an oil tycoon; I looked more like a field worker! I loved the Halloween costumes of @JamesHxstatic and his wife, Anne. Do any of you have costumes you can pull together in a pinch?

I have a black shirt with big cat eyes on it and a cat tail that pins on. So I will be at black cat for Halloween.

@jstory07 - A black cat is a great costume! One of our daughters was a white cat for Halloween for several years. She loved her easy white leotard, cat tail and cat ears!

That black cat looks eerily like the cat I owned Judy. She passed away 3 years ago

Very nice photo, it is true that your husband looks like an oil tycoon. I have a beautiful Chinese long silk gown that I bought in Epcot years ago. This could be an easy costume I could wear in a pinch. I only need a little more makeup and to comb my hair Chinese style.

This is a nice dress up for Halloween Here it is my first time to see the announcement from the police and tell people not to dress up like ghosts in subway Some people really have horrible dress up to get attention.

I have lots of long and fancy black dresses. I could dress up as a Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (I have one which copied a style she used to wear) or as a witch...

@jaboUK - Believe it or not, for us, these were not costumes. These were things we were just able to pull right out of our closet. When we lived in Dallas, we had lots of occasions for wearing Western attire!

You are right! Your husband does look like an oil tycoon and you a field worker. lol My husband could wear his tux jacket, tux shirt, Stetson, jeans, cowboy boots and big silver buckle belt. I can go as Linda Evans. I have the same dress she wore to dinner at the ranch and comb my blonde hair the same way. Lovely photo!

As a kid I went trick or treating as a cowboy once. It is an easy costume to put together. As an adult in a pinch I could go as a professional golfer or tennis player. I already have the outfits from being a coach.
